The Great Declutter Part 2

Wow that's loads kezlou. Well done. :T
I had a horrible headache yesterday so didn't do any paperwork as planned.Today has gone reasonably well, though.
Out:
1 bed - mattress, divan base with space underneath, and matching sort of mattress-on-wheels thing designed to live under the divan base and get wheeled out when necessary. A lovely idea, but sadly v uncomfortable to sleep on in this case. (To tip) Why does my garage not look any emptier even though this has gone????
End boards of dd's midi-sleeper bed. The rest of it went for recycling a while ago, but couldn't fit the end bits in until I could do a journey with no kids. (recycling)
Old battery for laptop (recycling) - out of the house the same day that the replacement one arrived! :j
Huge pile of late-nearly-ex's CDs - to friend whose husband had lent loads of their CDs to someone and then forgotten who!
Two CDs of kids' songs - posted to friend who runs a playgroup and wanted CDs.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Decluttering seems to be going very slow (?)
Pruning/weeding the garden to create more open spaces to make movement/tasks easier.
Had a long left email to consider doing but it felt "draining" and previously the recipient was too unreliable so have tossed it.
Still working on decluttering the freezer of some recipes needing improvement. Got eggs to combine with these.0 -
I didn't quite make my August challenge, so am back to start anew with a September challenge.

Most of the tree branches (tree cut down earlier in week) - now taken to the garden section of the dump. The rest will be taken there, either tomorrow or Monday.
Garden shed had a major clear out - so lots of stuff binned.
Cat litter tray (received free when I ordered cat litter online) & some tennis balls (dogs to play/use with) given to the nearby SSPCA Centre).0 -

Last week got rid of 5 general items (total 19/50) and 2 big paperwork items (total 27/50).
Although my totals don't seem very high, I have done loads (with help!) this month. My freezer has been emptied bit by bit (a few weird meals towards the end), defrosted, cleaned and switched back on again. I am also working my way through storecupboard food items which are either out of date or heading that way. This week I shall start to soak and cook various beans and chickpeas to freeze in single ready-to-use portions.
I am also part way through a couple of large paperwork projects which I shall hopefully make good progress on tomorrow.
Another thing I am working on is reading books which have been lent to me by friends and family so I can give them back to their rightful owners. I have read 2 out of 3 of a boxed set recently and have now started the 3rd book.
Today a friend painted the part of my fence which hadn't been done previously due to the little shed being in the way which emptied another big paint bucket.
At last both the kitchen and shed are starting to look so much better. My challenge this month is to get them finished. Once they are done I can then concentrate on finishing the bedroom and then a final blitz on the office/dumping room.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
More things tackled -
In progress, too much newspaper/cardboard for composting collected and therefore taking up too much outdoor space so to recycling bin. (Aim to spend less time on composting in general).
Garden waste bin ready for collection. (Good to have it emptied to re-use).
Collected flower seeds otherwise excessive plants expected next year and no room for other plants.
Finished some hair colour products. (Better than a trip to the hairdressers!)0 -

Mrssnowy- isn't it lovely to have some "clutter" made up from your lovely home made goodies? I can't wait until I get to the stage where I can ram my pantry full of jams and wines and things. It's not happening atm as it's full of books, cds and dvds but next year it will be mine for filling!
