The Great Declutter Part 2

Today:
Furniture - left outside the place here with a Free to good home sign, all gone, plus the sign! Result. That has freed up loads of space. Woo hoo.
Right, I think it's time for me to set a challenge again. I've been going a bit easy lately and the sooner I start to make a real impact the better. When things are less cluttered it so much easier to keep tidy and clean.
Who's up for a challenge, especially before the kids go back to school and stuff. I am going to get rid of 25 things today. I'm gonna target stuff that is obvious in your face clutter. :eek:Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hey everyone! I would really benefit joining this thread , if that is okay?
I am 18 years old , a full time nursery nurse and I also do 10 separate hours childminding as well ( some times more) As well as that I am doing 2 college courses from September , Nvq level 3 in childcare. And English literature and language as level.
I live with my lovely parents and my brother who is only hear 4 days a month ( he lives in a college which supports additional/special needs )
My bedroom is a state , you can't see the floor and my sides are covered with so much rubbish. I also have 3 Godchildren 1 is 5months and the other is 5 months 1 week then my eldest is 5 years , all of them have clothes and toys kept here for them.
My mum and me are like best friends , I love her so much but the only thing we argue about is my bedroom , she can not understand how I accumulate so much rubbish.
To top it all off I sleep walk and woke up the other night laid by my chest drawers with a very swollen and very black eye (which lasted 2.5 weeks) And i do wonder if i have managed to trip on the junk on my floor?
Already today I
Put one big black bin bag full of rubbish into the bin.
Put 5 items of clothing into the wash basket. ( I have more dirty washing but mum will go mad if i chuck it all in , in one big heap)
Last night I was awake puking , think I have some sort of bug so am tired and queasy at the moment but I want to start decluttering today.
Thanks:jNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

Hi there jj - a warm welcome. Sounds like you've already been busy. What a great way to show mum you love her by doing the one thing that bugs her. She will be so proud of your decluttered room - as will you. Plus it will give you space to do all your studies and somewhere to chill out too.
Right my target for today was to get rid of 25 things:
1. 2. Packaging from make up brushes bought months ago! (bin)
3. Rubbish from around PC (bin)
4. Rubbish bits and gubbins from bedroom (bin)
5. Used up a toiletry product and recycled the packaging (recycling)
So 5 down, 20 to go!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

22 items listed on E-bay: I've been given 2 days free listing so there's another pile to list tomorrow. Hoping to list 40 items - great declutter plus -if they sell- a useful boost to DD's wedding fund.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0

Woooo Hooooo, have finally managed to get the hubby onside with the decluttering and have attacked our garden & two sheds with gusto this afternoon! :T
Out went a 2 whole trailer loads of junk.. (one still pending)
Heaps of old wood bits & 3 full boxes of cardboard in the burning bin(that's where all our confidential papers go too)
Stacked the 2 log sheds to the rafters and boxed up all our kindling for the winter
We also tidied up the dog pen and relaid all his slabs (just needs some wood stain to pretty it up):D
All in all a really good day, finished it off with a nice roast dinner & apple crumble & custard!! Well worth decluttering for I'd say!! :rotfl:"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -
In
Nothing
Out
Chipped mug

Two keyrings, book and a potato masher (realised we had two, after wondering why I couldn't shut the utensils drawer! OH is the main chef and won't let me get rid of anything kitchen related.)

Have brought a lot more stuff into the house this week - but all from the garage loft - things for DS3 mainly, and a little bit for DS2. Put some things from the 'hand me down' pile straight into the NCT/ebay pile too - either outgrown without coming down or we already have too much similar stuff. Need to thoroughly sort out what I did bring in - some will go back up.
Got rid of a load of holey/ too small socks for DS1.
Bought 4 pairs of shoes in Clarks for the children £:eek::eek::eek: - DS3 is now walking, so combined his first shoes shop with the dreaded back-to-school shoe shop!
5 or 6 things sold on ebay this weekend - so they'll be going out when all paid forI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
14 13 towels – to animal rescue
15 Excess home stationery (large binliner) to freegle lady
16. Childs playtent – Freegle
17. 7 tubs blackberries to relative (I’ll replace later when it stops raining!)
18. 3 empty large carboard boxes to recycling
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
