The Great Declutter Part 2

Having spent the day on Monday decluttering, cleaning and tidying my bathroom I seem to have filled my bedroom up with stuff that was in the bathroom. Monday yielded 1 binbag of stuff - mostly recyclable though.
Tuesday I spent the entire day (10am until 10.30pm) emptying, sorting, cleaning and rearranging DD's bedroom. That has yielded and entire bootfull of stuff to go.
This morning I went to the tip and got rid of everything including all the clothes for charity and the recycling stuff. I replaced her broken lamp and bought her new school uniforms and socks.
I'm just breaking for lunch (which my 8 yr old DD has decided she will make- woohoo!) and then I'm going back upstairs. I'm unsure whether to start with the landing or our bedroom. I think I will start with our bedroom as the stuff in there is books to go into the loft (now I have a useable hatch) until our landing is done and the book case has been built. There are tools and tool boxes to be sorted out too but that's it for our room. All of my clothes are residing in a plastic box and a small chest of drawers in DD's room and all of DH's are in cupboards in DS's room.
The man is coming to fit my wardrobes on Monday so I have to have the hallway and landing and our bedroom cleared by then. I'm hoping DH will pull his finger out and use the plaster board that is in our hallway to cover the walls on the landing as that will use a few boards and the roll of insulation.
The kids are being fab and although they are not helping that much, they aren't moaning about wanting to go out and do stuff. They seem to have cottoned onto the fact that if I manage a room per day then it's going to take me 2 weeks max. DS is desperate for his room to be decorated and DD has agreed to share with him so that we can get on with it quicker so she gets her room back.
A scary task but it's all coming together and I just need DH to have a big push too.

Kaz2904 - it feels great when it all starts to pull together, doesn't it?
Your house seems like mine - stuff still everywhere but taking shape at the same time!
It feels a bit like a big jigsaw to me - you know when it's almost there and you feel urged to get it completed?
Today I want to take some more bits to the charity shop but dd(8) is out playing and I have to go to work in a bit so it will have to wait until tomorrow.
DD and I are going to start emptying the store (kept quite a bit there while I've been sorting the house) so I plan to be just as ruthless with that!

Out:
Another small pile of paperwork shredded/recycled
Body spray emptied - can recycled
Manky potatoes found under stairs - compost
Precision tool-set which has been on top of our wardrobe for years - put in shed (may have to go in for car boot if DP doesn't use it soon!)
Batteries - recycled
Also I finally set up my powerdown gadget yesterday, and recycled the box, so now have a nice empty gap on my unit, and this morning I prepared and froze all the veg I had in the bottom of the fridge.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

A few outs for me today inspite of DD2 and DD3 constantly bickering at each other:
Carrier bag of kids shoes (shoe bank)
Carrier bag of old clothes (clothes bank)
Box of 13 CDs to Music Magpie (Post Office): looking forward to the £29 cheque!
Saving my worthless (30p) CDs for a car boot sale when the summer decides to come back.
Happy decluttering!

The buy one, so get rid of one philosophy has helped me. I'm now strangely in the position where my wardrobe is nearly full. Probably because I've nearly caught up on all the washing.:o
Well the charity bag is getting filled. Some odd bits:
1. Curtain pull back things (charity)
2. 3. PC games (charity)
4. Old cat basket (local cat charity)
5. Bag of pc bits (freecycle)
More stuff to come later. Really feel that things are moving now. Woo hoo! After doing this for 6 months I should ruddy well hope so!

Found a few more bits for the charity bag/sack:
1 x briefcase (charity)
1 x travel game (charity)
1 x keyring (charity)
6 x books/magazines (charity)
1 x cardboard box which was holding this stuff (flattened ready for recycling)
Phew! Where does this stuff keep coming from??? That's another 10 bits for my overall total.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
