The food waste bins are collected by the council each week and the food is composted rather than going to landfill sitesI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I reread my post and thought it sounded like I was recycling food to reuse
it's a new scheme and suits me as I hate food waste in the kitchen bin, kids are getting really good at remembering to put it in the food bin nowI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I think it's on trial in a lot of places and if it works out will become more widespreadI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. No, you're OK. I didn't for one minute think you were recycling food waste for consumption :rotfl: I :T all councils that compost food waste:D We don't have much, but anything is better than landfill :j:j
Edited to add: I mean we don't have much food recyclingI live in Greenwich (London) I may not be that enamoured of my local council, but when it comes to recycling I can't fault them, they recycle absolutely everything that can be recycled
It's practically only polystyrene that fills our black binsack ( landfill
) and that doesn't go out every week
