The food waste bins are collected by the council each week and the food is composted rather than going to landfill sites

Same as ours Garden waste and food waste collected every week for recycling. It was a ( pathetic) joke Glad, nothing untoward intended. :kisses3:

Food waste doesn't get collected by me My mum gets it collected and some people a few streets away from me get it collected but not me!

Luckily I've got dogs and they get the left overs (that isn't dangerous for them) :money:

I reread my post and thought it sounded like I was recycling food to reuse
it's a new scheme and suits me as I hate food waste in the kitchen bin, kids are getting really good at remembering to put it in the food bin now

I think it's on trial in a lot of places and if it works out will become more widespread

No, you're OK. I didn't for one minute think you were recycling food waste for consumption :rotfl: I :T all councils that compost food waste :D We don't have much, but anything is better than landfill :j:j

Edited to add: I mean we don't have much food recycling I live in Greenwich (London) I may not be that enamoured of my local council, but when it comes to recycling I can't fault them, they recycle absolutely everything that can be recycled It's practically only polystyrene that fills our black binsack ( landfill ) and that doesn't go out every week

Well I have evicted a lot of rubbish from the kitchen, a viking direct and a betterware catalogue, some rank food from the fridge (no food recycling here sadly) and a couple of bottles

wine (should be able to evict tomorrow)
