The food waste bins are collected by the council each week and the food is composted rather than going to landfill sites :)

Same as ours ;) Garden waste and food waste collected every week for recycling. It was a ( pathetic) joke Glad, nothing untoward intended. :D :kisses3:

Food waste doesn't get collected by me :( My mum gets it collected and some people a few streets away from me get it collected but not me!

Luckily I've got dogs and they get the left overs (that isn't dangerous for them) :money:
    Wife and mother :j

I reread my post and thought it sounded like I was recycling food to reuse :o
it's a new scheme and suits me as I hate food waste in the kitchen bin, kids are getting really good at remembering to put it in the food bin now :)

I think it's on trial in a lot of places and if it works out will become more widespread :)

No, you're OK. I didn't for one minute think you were recycling food waste for consumption :rotfl: I :T all councils that compost food waste :D:D We don't have much, but anything is better than landfill :j:j

Edited to add: I mean we don't have much food recycling :D I live in Greenwich (London) I may not be that enamoured of my local council, but when it comes to recycling I can't fault them, they recycle absolutely everything that can be recycled :D It's practically only polystyrene that fills our black binsack ( landfill :() and that doesn't go out every week :D
