Hiya All - I am very late today - OH working at home and it throws my whole routine (though he really does work all day ..) Dont know what I will do when he retires - should start planning now I guess. Anyway I am getting a bit devoid of actual clutter clutter - dont get me wrong the house is still bulging at the seams - but its all stuff we really do use (well mostly .. loft is a bit of a nightmare but I just can face it at the mo)
So I am stuck at 64 things in 5 days ... I dont think I can count the usual things like peelings, tissues etc - they would never be allowed to clutter even in the hottest of hot spots on the worst of bad days. But - all the recycling has gone and I have a box in the car boot for the CS (not going to make a special journey), and I made 6 cards yesterday so have moved some craft materials along, and made a Dundee cake so used dried fruit and eggs and am making vegetable mousakka using up some rather tired HG veg from freezer 3 - to make space for this seasons veg...
Purplevamp - cakes look yum - I am sure they sold instantly and raised good ££
    Have lovely weekends everyone.

We got a leaflet through announcing a community clear-up this week. So I thought I'd get rid of the broken pots and rubbish out of the back yard. I was doing really well and got rid of loads of stuff into the skip and then thought I'd come back and move things around and tidy up...then I dropped the end of a 4ft ish wooden planter and it landed on my foot! So spent the rest of the day in casualty - not broken, just badly bruised and me very miffed that I can't finish what I started

Anyway, should be okay in a couple of days so have the school hols to do some more sorting out. I'm just a hazard to myself :rotfl:

Hope everyone else gets on OK over the hols.

    Evening all....

I'm not sure who it was now... maybe purplevamps comment on her WSM having her mouth stapled :rotfl: now now!!! To be fair my WSM isn't too bad I just like to refer to her as my WSM and she actually likes it! :D

    Day 4 & 5 of 50 in 5
    31. Birthday card - posted to friend
    32. Cleaned car inside and out then decluttered all the cr*p out of it - bin
    33. Gardening gloves - wore a hole in them so bin
    34. Shoes sold on ebay - posted
    35. Make-up sold on ebay - posted
    36. Ebay sale - posted
    37. Pair of OH pants - holes in so recycling bin
    38. Embroidery type frame - passed to WSM to re-home somewhere
    39. Old batteries - in bag outside pending visit to the tip
    40. Plastic shopping bags returned and recycled at Mr Morrison

Failed my 50 in 5 days :o but at least that's 140 (if we count the previous 100 in 10 challenge) pieces of clutter that have now left our home so I'm very pleased with that. :j

There is still a long way to go but I'm going to have a rest now as our kiwi friend arrives on Monday and we have lots of news to catch up on :D

Have a good weekend everyone :)

but purplevamps WSM made her dad sell his Elvis collection so she could spend the money on something for herself. To me that is definately a WSM. he should have kept the Elvis stuff and got shot of her (might not have got so much money i wouldnt have thought;))

    have a great weekend everyone

    Frame - CS
Lovely stripy Scarf / Sarong for summer - CS

rotten old fencing from bottom of garden
couple of bags of rubble from bottom of garden

    - seeing it itemised makes me realise just how much I buy from Charity Shops. In addition to the above I bought 2 things that went straight out again - one was a sticker maker that didn't work (straight to bin) & the other was a book I bought on spec to sell - wasn't worth anything so back to charity shop. :o

Longhotbath - Hope DS get's his wheelchair back soon - I seem to remember that the Red Cross used to do temporary wheelchair hire but that might only be for adult size chairs.
Janebo - Ouch - wish you better
Purplevamp - what gorgeous looking cakes

I’m off work now until 12 April. The plan for the next couple of weeks is to actually do some serious decluttering. Don't hold your breath though

I've just been catching up as I have missed a few days. Purplevamp those cupcakes looked very impressive. (note to self must try harder).

Am I allowed to ask Megsmum for her opinion on the 2 vacum cleaners she mentioned emptying? This decluttering year pushed me to finally decorate our bedroom and treat us to a new carpet (last one 18 years ago). Well after 3 children and a colliecross dog the present vac is on its last legs. It is grey and yellow, does not have a bag and has been very good at its job, although DH has often had to repair it. Anyway time for it to retire and the 2 makes that Megsmum mentioned were ones I was considering. If Megsmum or any one else can give me useful info without breaking any board rules I would be very grateful. These vacs are not cheap and I want one that picks up very well and lasts for years, oh and not too heavy would be a bonus.

My decluttering is going ahead slowly, this week I have moved out

3 books to a bring and buy sale
an old A4 file to the bin
a couple of handfuls of old receipts from the 'receipt' box file
(couldn't find the one I was looking for but these were too old to need)

After reading this thread this morning I am checking that I am finished with the few magazines I have in the house and will take them to Doctors on Tuesday (thank you for that tip).

Janebo very sorry about your sore foot. I hope it mends fast and you can get back to your decluttering.
