Sorted out storage spaces in roof today (not tackled the actual loft yet).
Re-packed children's old school work, etc into nice new plastic storage boxes. The cardboard ones had had it.

Managed to take loads of stuff to the tip or freecycled it so lots of things out today and everything much tidier.

Thanks for your support again. Take care everyone.
  • 48. Application form posted-only had it since 3rd Feb!
    49. Black bag full (yes i'm on a mission. actually investing in black bags!) of gibble (into neighbours skip! SShhh!)

I don't know what the actual definition of gibble is but for me it's just that general carp that lies around the place that any sane and normal person would put in the bin as they went along.

My dog has a nasty habit of finding 'treasures' generally socks, anything ball like, empty cat food tins and homing them lovingly under the dining room table. I can tell you a fair bit of 'gibble' was cleared from under there today. I also about a 3rd filled a black bag of car boot stuff. Hoping to do one at some point soon.

Managed to get rid of a couple of things today. Here goes:

    Sorted out kitchen shelves so

OUT: 2 cookbooks, some old undelivered cards, recycling to the bin
    IN: 1 loaf of bread.

Not a bad start! There's another couple of books for the charity shop, so I must take them into town tomorrow. Thanks for the motivation to keep on decluttering!

i feel really horrible now ive found out this word has a meaning:o our darling lovely youngest DD who wll be 18 this summer has affectionally been called gibble since the day she was born:eek:. The deffinition is definately NOT true in her case. (Neither me nor her dad know why we call her it it just happened and stuck.) I must stop calling her it.

carboot season has started which is the main reason we accumulate clutter. but i am going to be much more restrained this year.

    IN
6 dvds and a dvd boxset
tube of silicone sealer - to fix around bath
2 packs of baby wipes - DH uses them in the car as hand wipes dashboard cleaners etc.
1 paperback book - really want to read and it was a bargian
3 small candles - i will light them and use them honest.
crochet hook, small silk flowers and silver threads - flowers and threads are for DDs art work
alarm clock - DH back up clock had broken
pack of postcards that i will use
3 school tops - im testing them for MrT

    OUT
    4 easter cards - posted

    pending out
3 parcels still need posting - its too wet to walk down post office today
glass and jars - bagged ready for bottle bank

  • Some of us are struggling with the 100 in 10 days stuff (me included) - I wonder if we should do a turbo declutter day? So instead of trying to declutter for a full 10 days, go for a target of say decluttering 25 items in 1 day? So still really tough but not too exhausting for us (or me I should say). Who's up for anything like this? :A

That's a great idea.... I might join you in that. I keep saying I'll do 100 things in 10 days, but most days I'm not that enthused about decluttering. Once I start I like to have a good old clear out, not keep stopping and starting, so I'll join you on this one. I'm going to dedicate a day over Easter to do it.
