15 rag bag - charity bag collection

I've not done much this week as I've had a cold and just sat around sniffling. I don't think I'll manage another 85 things in the next 4 days unless I count each of my used tissues..... ooops

    Hi everyone

Haven't posted on here for over a week but have been lurking and keeping track of what you've all been doing! Blimey you've been very busy!!!

As my OH has been away all week I've been out quite a lot, my friends have kept me company whilst he's been away so not much decluttering going on I'm afraid. I have also registered with a temping agency and applied for a couple of jobs so fingers crossed something will happen soon. :o

Our friend from NZ arrives here in 2 weeks!:eek: So I may have to do another 100 in 10 challenge starting Monday however, I'm still thinking about whether I can achieve it a 2nd time . May have to do 50 items in 5 days. This time I may have to be more ruthless :D

    Today In:
Food shopping - stocked up for OH's arrival home tomorrow
    Birthday card
Pretty blank card to send to a old work friend I've found out has breast cancer and is very, very poorly :(. I'm not directly in touch with her but wanted to know she was in my thoughts.
3 bunches of flowers - my mom, OH mom and my wicked step mother (kitchen now resembles a florist!)

    Out:
    Broken coat hangers
    Contents of the vacuum cleaner
Pizza box :p (couldn't be bothered to cook last night)
    Weekly papers & junk mail

Pending in: OH back tomorrow :j
  • Been meaning to send this lot to new homes for weeks but something's always come up that we aren't passing the charity shops without a special (fuel wasting) journey.

Total of 30 items out - none in

    Ebay
    1. Book

    Charity shop
    2. karate belt
    3. camera tripod
    4. microwave utensil for eggs
    5. ornament
    6. candle holder
    7. set of knives, forks and spoons
    8. - 27 books
    28. video
    29. video
    30. teapot

Feels MUCH better not having it in a pile and getting in the way.
    No longer half of Optimisticpair

I tackled the Cupboard Under the Stairs yesterday and did three more Sideboard drawers. Got rid of 2 binbags of recycling, (going to have to stop as the recycling bin is almost full and they dont come again until Friday) all of Dans and Old Horses rubbish :j and 5 more things for th'ebay. Tried to chuck DansDads guitar mags but although he wont look at them again he got very petulant when I mentioned it last night, so they are at the back of the cupboard until the next round of emptying. I have room now for freezer no 2!! :D

Next will be the Spare Room (also known as the Bermuda Triangle) I think Jaws may live there as I'm sure I hear the music when I open the door......

30 items of too small/ never worn/ worn too often clothing out of the wardrobe & into the charity shop bag Most of it has sat in storage bags in the top of the ceiling-high wardrobe since this time last year - should have got rid then. :o

5 items with tags onto the E-bay pile - going to start a wedding fund for DD ;)
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

DS1 sorted out 2 boxes in his room and it immediately looked bigger. It’s surprising what doing even just a small amount can do. Although saying that you can’t tell that I’ve done much today but for me it’s loads!! DS2 helped with his and DD’s room. DD just played with her toys, so I told her if she wasn’t going to help then to go into another room ~ she went downstairs!! After DS2 had some chocolate as a reward she soon started helping!

On The Style Network (Sky 253) all day has been a programme called “Clean House”. I’ve been watching it off and on as I’ve cleaned today!

Tomorrow I'm hoping to do some more. It's only my first week at this cleaning malarky but already I feel so much better for it.
