Decluttering and the decorating is my mission for this year. I have an enforced de-clutter of the kitchen pending as we are getting a new one installed on the 11th January and everything has to be removed for the contractors to start.

Newbie to the decluttering lark - I have a real dislike of tidying and getting rid of 'useful' stuff. Which is so ridiculous that I have to buy new as I can't find the original I kept in all the chaos.
The only thing I refuse to reduce is my collection of cats - 6! All 'recycled' - we adopted older cats from rescues that have been waiting for homes a LONG time. :blushing: But we won't be increasing that number - honest!
I had an idea for gettng rid of stuff - hiring a hall and having a 'free to a good home' event. I have friends who keep telling me to bootfair or ebay it, but we need to get it out of the house quicker than that or we'll lost steam and stop the decluttering. Hmm not completely convinced by that but will keep that as my declutter goal until a better suggestion comes along.;)Put the kettle on.0 -
I'm in
We've been going around in circles trying to decide whether or not we should move house. I have decided that I want to be in a new house next Christmas ... so there's a whole lot of scrubbing and decluttering to be done!!
I'm a FlyBaby, so I am aiming for 2 x 15 min decluttering every day.0 -
Can i join in this thread too please, i feel i have a mountain to climb on the de-clutter front, Since hubby walked out 3 months ago leaving me with 4 children things have gone from bad to worse on the clutter and motivation front. I have made a start and cleared out all the wrapping paper/boxes today but believe me it hardly scratches the surface!

I have just made a great leap forward in the war against clutter - my first offer on Freegle, hope there are takers as I want to declutter but really don't want to throw useful stuff out.
The next task will be to go through the kitchen cupboards - I have years of junk in them, some isn't used from one year end to the other, so the time may have come to part company.:D
I have made a start by sorting through the freezer containers and put all those 'just in case' marg tubs on the recycle bin. I figure that as the freezers are still full I may not need quite as many as I think I do:rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone
Id love to join in please as I have lots of decluttering to do!
Ive made loads of 'to do' lists - one per room! each really broken down into little jobs so whan I mark something off it makes me more motivated to do other things so I can mark more off! if that makes sense! It works for me though as they are all little jobs I can do when watching tv/making dinner.e.t.c.
Its things like the drawer we put letters/bills/statements in....it over flows yet no one feels obliged to clear it out and we all stuff more in it! no more though as its all tidied away in a filling cabinet or shredded!
2010 is going to be a tidying year for me! and a no spending year!!Weekly Spend Challenge £200 -

I can only wish.
But I am not due back to work until the 11th of Jan. So I will have some time to get started.
But no matter how hard I try to keep things tidy the untidying fairy follows close behind me messing it all up again :rotfl:

Count me in! I have already been through my clothes and filled a giant bag with things that I am never going to wear again. It has been carefully put away until March when I will list then on Ebay and get them sold.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
