I took a load of music we'd printed to the rehearsal tonight so thought that would be yet more paper out - then the guy who takes it home left early and so I had to bring all the music and box home - oops, won't be for too long though.

I'm feeling really good now - and I am on a mission.... My bedroom's karma feels so much better, I can open the shoe cupboard and see what's there... The kids rooms next - they are going to their Nana's next week for half term - so guess what I'm going to do ;)

If I had known it was going to feel this good - I would have started earlier :rotfl:

Weekend didn't go quite to plan :o but did achieve:

    • rediscover the settee - the one thing I haven't kept up from my decluttering/sorting last month
Hey Yorkielass, well done on finding your settee, woo-hoo! :T

I've been slowly decluttering the craft stash over the past year and a bit, but there's still far too much. I feel really guilty too at the amount I used to buy, as I don't work and it was all bought out of hubby's money. I actually used to hide stuff in the car if he was home when I got back, so he wouldn't see how much I'd bought! So.... we both need to keep going! We'll get there in the end.... !

Hey loopchriss, I love fabric and havent allowed myself to get into the craft thing yet. Partly as there is no room :o but also once I start I will never stop. I keep looking at sock monkeys and thinking mmm they look fun!

Have you got any schools or brownie groups near you that would appreciate some craft stuff? Or if you have stuff thats still boxed could you give as presents? :A

Right, here's about 20 things I've got rid of as part of my target to declutter 140 things in 7 days.

    Out:
Clarins make-up bag, big, too big, to charity
Set of Boots 17 lipglosses to neice
    Sealed Avon mascara to neice
    S&G Boots bag to charity
Really old toiletries (when will I stop finding stuff) into bin sadly
Another make-up bag, a Boots 17 one, to charity
Body Shop cocoa butter body lotion, half opened, too strong a smell, off to sis
Protect & Perfect hand cream, off to sis
Colgate gel - orrible stuff, unopened to sis
Liz Earle shave balm (shh dont tell him), off to bro in law
Dead sea bath salts off to sis
Dove hand cream, used up and container sadly not recyclable, into bin
Avon serum, unused, off to neice
Darlek bubble bath off to charity
An old DVD film, off to charity
Rubbish, loads of bits but only count as 1 item
    Argos old catalogue, recycled
    Eye shadow, unused to sis
Wipes, Milton ones, to take to work to clean my desk
Recycling, loads of bits but only count as 1 item

Phew! It helped doing the fly-lady routine too. Today was the living room hence some bits were from there. Tomorrow is the kitchen. I may be gone some time....:o

Purpleheather - It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who has moments of doubt - I guess it's just part of being human? It's funny what can set them off isn't it? I'm feeling back on track with things - I just needed to remember that I made the decision to work part-time for a reason - which was to spend more time with DS (& that I'm fortunate to be in a position that I am able to make that decision). I'm feeling a lot more appreciative of what I've got..

Just a quick dip into the thread - Those Yummy Mummies off to exotic places are like hampsters on the wheel - running to keep up to keep running and so not having time to enjoy the simple lasting pleasures. I used to work with 2 high fliers who took kids away every school 1/2 term and hols - they were exhausted all the time because of their jobs so needed the hols to recover so they could go back to work ... you get the idea! So enjoy your freedom and relax in the knowledge that it isnt stuff that makes you happy its the 4" between your ears.

You are right Megsmum - I just need to be reminded from time to time - I really appreciate the support and motivation I get from this lovely thread Thanks All
