Lots more ironing in my pile!

    OUT:
    Some paperwork/old newspapers/avon books
DH & DS2 tonight (he's in the school play, soooooooooooooo proud)

And its just started to snow!
Had a bit of a dig around the other evening, still piles of stuff but have seen a little bit of worksurface so know its still there. Saw DS2 in his play last night so DH going tonight. Once DD is in bed, will be torn as to whether to declutter or list on ebay.

A reminder that its half term next week (well it is here). Have a friend coming over on the friday - need to find the stairs to the boys bedroom again. No idea how I'm going to sort out all the boxes on them as our bedroom is a tip again.

Maybe it will be decluttering tonight but my ironing pile is huge...

  • Morning all
Well my Mum stayed over on Monday night, she hoovered up for me and found the lost library book - yay. It had fallen down the back of a pile of my little boys games !! honestly the time I've wasted searching for it.

I have 3 ironing baskets full of erm ironing and stuff, so sorted through one yesterday and now have a bag of stuff for the charity shop. (The problem I have is I recycle old jeans and stuff for crafting and tend to hoard stuff )

Also sorted through my desk drawers and got a bag of rubbish together.

I was moaning to DH yesterday that there is not enough room in DS bedroom and he said you were going to put some of his furniture on freecycle , ahem ,oops forgot about that.
Poor kid has a set of drawers full of bedding in his room!!! so that's my job for today.

We've made a deal with DS he has a lot of stuff but doesn't want to part with a fair bit yet, so we've going to put a toy box in the attic and put stuff in it, if he wants something out of it, something from downstairs must go in it. If something has been up there for a year, we'll sell it and he can have the cash - let's hope it works :)

  • Hiya Folks - feeling quite virtuous because I have spent the morning so far "bottoming" the office/craft room/dumping ground! Chucked 1/2 a bb of rubbish, hoovered up a load of dust bunnies, filled a charity bag and filled a recycling bag with paper and card. Phew! Can see the floor and table, found some lovely beads, 2 prs scissors, 3 CDs. Managed to keep going 'til it was done - didnt get diverted by baby photos either.
Having a quick power banana now, going to check the hens then tackling the kitchen hotspot before having a final flourish in the utility room (floor is like a midden!) before its time for afternoon dog walks, getting tea then going out for a run with my friend before our exercise class - then collapsing in a heap (but with a glowing halo!) Actually writing this down makes me feel very good about myself - usually when people say "So what do you do all day?" I just reply "nothing much - I just potter about" .... ha!!
    Have a good day all.

  • Hi Everyone & well done

I havn't been able to stick to my box/bag/drawer a day over the last week. But I am still happy.

Worksurfaces I had previously cleared are staying clear (if there is a pile it gets added to but if nothing is there nobody will put down the first thing) Which means things are being put away in their correct homes. The dirty wash basket & the ironing basket are empty & all beds have been changed.

I have also filed/shredded a huge basket of paperwork & hoovered.

So I am ready to tackle another load of "stuff"
As its half term next week I should have a bit more time & can get DDs involved as well.

I've started ebaying and have got some stuff to send off to musicmagpie too so I'm trying the decluttering thing by selling stuff again, also popped 6 more things into the charity box last night - when it's full I will take it to the shop and then start another box!

Nothing really in or out today - have bought some admin stuff to work to do in my lunch break though to get that sorted.

Oh inaminute, that's bad news. Sorry to hear it. How much notice have you been given?

Well for me, a day at home looking after my sick dd (2) -although she's fine now tbh - which means I can't work and as I'm self-employed, no worky=no money. Hey ho. So I have taken a large pair of shears to the front garden and hacked all the overgrown bushes right back including a very rampant lavender which was practically knocking on the front door and a large rosemary. So if that counts as decluttering then I have done some!

I have just ordered some books from the book people (though some were presents) but I promise to declutter my books v soon so that I have somewhere to put these shiny new ones when they arrive! :o

Hope the rest of you of having a productive day.
:D Skint but happy with my lovely family :D

Oh no inaminute. I hope you manage to get enough of a payout to tide you over until you find your next job. You'll have to get your cv up together and sort it all out. Good luck with everything.
