The Great Declutter Part 2
Comments
-
Wow, everyone is making great progress! I am working on clothes atm - two bin bags of assorted stuff decluttered over the weekend. One bag of rag gone to the recycling bank and one bag is going to the charity shop TODAY. I will do it! Also have my younger daughter's cot in the hall ready to give to charity shop but we have lost one of the bolts (argh) so need to go to B and Q and get a replacement one otherwise it is useless. I really can't bear the thought of someone just binning it because it needs one little bolt. I also decluttered a bin bag full of maternity clothes. I was intending to sell them but I just don't have the time and I have already tried to sell them without much luck. So I decided to just let them go to charity and not feel bad about not selling them. Boy it felt good!! Keep going everyone, we are doing brilliantly
Skint but happy with my lovely family
Hypnotherapy rocks :j0 -
Not been well for the past few days, so no decluttering . However DH seems to have got the bug, he has sorted about 12 pairs of trouser that don't fit any more, so need to sort for bin / charity bag
Our bedroom is finally looking something like ready for decoration, still have to sort the bookcase thoughYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Hi
Everyone has been very busy de-cluttering whilst I’ve been away… I was hoping the fairies may have visited and sorted the house out for us but alas they haven’t.
Had a light bulb moment last night as I realised that our friend from NZ arrives in 7 weeks  and I’ve not done anywhere near as much de-cluttering as I should have!
Since the weekend:
In:
Dog back from OH parents (as I thought she was very spoilt)
OH and I back from holiday
A weeks worth of post, junk mail and newspapers (neighbours had sorted into piles)
Present and card for friend’s birthday
Out:
Charity bag (neighbours put out for me whilst we were away)
2 books loaned to friend
Present and card for friend’s birthday tonight when we go out for meal
Newspapers and junk mail
Pending:
A plan to establish what to do and where to start with the larger items we need to get rid of…..… I seem to have lost all motivation.
Someone please kick me up the bottom as I need to do this!!!!!0 -
think I am gonna try for a drawer or cupboard a day as way too much stuff and don't know where to start,....stressing me right out, my prob is I am trying to sell stuff for bit extra money etc so stuff that could go is hanging about...I have a serious lack of motivation at moment though looking after 2 young boys and doing 2 college courses does take up alot of my time. I could be doing alot more though must give myself a good talking too!0

inaminute, here's a kick for you! Once you get started youll get back into it.
Well today I have started THAT DRAWER! You know, the one in the kitchen? Well I only have one kitchen drwaer so it's awful! I've put the cutlery tray in the dw and cleaned the drawer. 1/2 a carrier bag taken out to go to charity. All the big utensils have been put in a jug and a stainless holey ikea thing on the side. I've washed up one of the plastic tubs that mushrooms come in so that I can put my tea towels in there and keep them in the drawer. I need to chuck what I've got and get some new ones. Mine are minging! It'll look better though. I need to take my rubbish to the tip today, all the recycling, we don't have a recycling box so I just have carrier bags and it gets a bit much. Also, they dont collect plastic yet so that hangs around until I get to the tip. Lots of bags to go.
The new skirting boards are nearly all decluttered, they're nearly all fitted now, just a little bit left and DH can do that tonight. The new door was fitted (can't remember if I mentioned that).

I feel the same! I have at least four large boxes of stuff to sell and just never seem to get round to it. I feel like crying when I go in the spare room - just overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff in there... I'm just trying to concentrate on one particular area at a time and will start listing at least one thing on Ebay per week!

just found out that the meeting I was planning to go to this afternoon has been cancelled. SO instead I will find 50 things to put away, 30 things to chuck out/recycle and anything at all to go in the charity bag I started yesterday (6 books and a Next handbag in it so far) before tea time! I am starting at 1.00 and finishing at 3.00. Stopwatch and notepad at the ready. I will report back when I have my cuppa at 3.15!
And another pesky lb has gone - woo hoo!!!!Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)

OK - just finished my two hour whizz round!
Out: /recycled/CS 14 things
Put away: 21 things (but I am counting all the washing and floordrobe items of clothing that have been put in the correct places - including pairs of socks married up including some orphans from the box - as 1 thing ...)
A good 2 hours!Stay clutter-free

IN
Cute little Edward Monkton jewellery roll (40p from charity shop)
OUT
40-50 books & a bag of bits & bobs to Charity Shop.
I've worked out that when I'm dropping stuff off at Charity shops I'm less likely to buy loads of stuff if I browse before I've handed my stuff over. Otherwise I get an overwhelming desire to fill my shoppng trolley up again with all sorts of clutter.Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.
