Hiya, reading this thread as a 'lurker' inspired me to start on all my stuff. Made a start yesterday only to frighten myself witless, 'found' so many lotions and potions in the way of toiletries stashed in every room except the kitchen!! even then found 4 hand creams all half used. Over the house there were billions of bath products (I exaggerate perhaps a little:o)
I know that I will never get to the point of a Japanese miniaturist :eek:but I moved my home with a couple of bin bags full of clothes, a garden chair, z-bed and a couple of pots and pans. I also am aware that I am a clutter bug but all the stuff in the house is getting to me.
So a belated new years resolution-no more saving it for best use it now:)0 -
Hypno, sending you virtual hugs
Greent, I wish you a speedy recovery
Hi everyone
Haven't posted for a few days but still plodding away. Decided to continue with my 'butterfly' approach and just spending short periods de-cluttering when I have the time. Have been brave and tackled 2 boxes from the garage . One emptied and the other 50% complete (in my defence I have to say that it is a very large box of mixed 'stuff').
In
Nothing :j (just to clarify, I am not including food. It's never around long enough to count as clutter :rotfl:)
Out
- pair of old specs to charity
- pile of paperpacks to charity shop via DIL
- misc bits of total carp from box in garage that can't be recycled
Pending
- huge pile of paper to recycle/shred
- 5 large files of paperwork to return to friend now that I have completed their tax return (for which I give myself an :A)
- another bag for the charity shop
- a pile of magazines for a friend
Thanks all for helping me to keep focused and have a great week.

Hiya Folks! Its Monday again but I am buzzing. Had a great chat to my big bro' last night - he and his OH are in same situation as me with sentimental attachment to stuff which is getting in the way of enjoying the here and now and the next active retirement years (we are both just retired and so thinking that we have maybe 20 active years realistically). It was really supportive to hear him saying Mum wouldnt want some china (actually LOTS of china) and sticks of furniture to stop us getting the most out of life. SO this week OUT goes the cabinet, clothes and china. And in comes the grand plan to be sorted by 2012 when OH retires. Love you all for your support (sorry, bit gushing this morning...)
