    Hello all

Completelylost - I have had a week like that!
Last weekend I posted that I was going to sort out the kids old books. I put them all on the dining table and they are still there (no we don't eat at the table - I know we should!)
Despite the kids being 15, 13 and 11, nobody can bear to part with The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiger Who Came to Tea (my favourite:o) so I'm just going to have to give up for now.
I've also got completely confused about the bin collection - I was convinced that yesterday was the black bin because it was last collected 2 weeks ago. However, that was an emergency post snow collection and the Council have insisted on going back to their timetable instead of following mine -typical! (yes it was my fault!). So - full bins for another week.
On the plus side I have thrown away a lot of old magazines this week so I hope to get going again now.

Take care of yourselves Hypno and greent.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • Decluttered paperwork in small box-room, sometimes (laughingly) referred to as "the study" - not as enjoyable as yesterdays garden tidy but much needed.

    IN
    Nothing :A
    OUT
    large bag of recycling
    large bag of rubbish
    Pending out
Bag of books & bits & bobs for charity shop
    book earmarked for friend
Huge wicker chest/coffee table - stored in box-room for past 3 1/2 years - I've been hanging onto this for emotional reasons - it came from my previous (much larger) home but unless I build a conservatory just to house it - there's nowhere it fits in my current home. So I intend to list it on Ebay within the next week.

Hypno & Greent: Take Care both of you.

    Bake Off Boss!
Not a lot done this weekend but still finding that posting on here makes me make an effort.

Tidied a cupboard in the living room & found some unused plates etc which are now packed up ready for charity shop.
Managed to put away some items without a home into newly cleared cupboard.
All washing & ironing done & put away.
Post from last couple of days dealt with.
    Rubbish bins emptied.
Last years National Trust directory recycled.

Feel I have acheived quite a bit in the last month.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Good grief ladies- 10 pages!! You have been busy. I haven't been on here for about a week and I can really see a difference in the house. I just wish it was a good difference! I haven't got rid of a thing. This thread was really keeping me motivated.

Going to make a start on the cellar tomorrow.

IN - Nothing, apart from groceries and post.

    OUT - Nothing. :o

PENDING - Large bag of tetra-pak cartons.

Hypno - Very sorry to hear your news. Chin up lovey. xxx

Not posted for a bit, or done any de-cluttering! :o

However, I may just have unearthed Harry Potter in the cupboard under my stairs!!

Why do I feel it necessary to keep almost empty tins of paint?? And several of them??

    Pending Out:

    Rug
    Light fitting
6 tins of paint (mostly empty or thereabouts)
6 testers of paint which never quite made it to the final auditions!
Some kind of bath shelf thing?? Not entirely sure what it started life out as?
    An old jacket
    Coat hook rail thingy
An entire colony of spiders dead & alive!
One of my 2 Xmas trees! (My flat was soo cluttered before Xmas I didn't even put one up, so why I went out and bought another one after Xmas is anyone's guess!!)

Now do I make several journeys to the wheely bin, which for me is downstairs, halfway up the road and down a wee lane or just 2 journeys, 1 to bring it to my front door and 1 to take it back once i've filled it??

I'm so lucky that my landlords live closer to my bins than I do so they put it out every week. I wouldn't get the day / colour / frequency right anyway!! :rotfl:

Hypno: Just read ur post. Love n hugs, but as de-cluttering goes, you've beat us all hands down! Chin up and it seems as if everyone on here is going to be a big support. I know the threads keep me going in times of stress.
My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!

Hypno, sorry to hear your news, throw yourself into the decluttering, it can be very theraputic.

Day off tomorrow, so will be going to the tip with some empty boxes and black bags of rubbish.

This thread is steaming along, and everyone is really motivated, so who knows, this could be the year that I finally declutter :T

    Hi everyone

Lots of hugs for Hypno and Greent, both take care of yourselves.

I've not been doing great, bought new clothes (2 pairs jeans, 3 tops) on Friday, but it's ages since I've bought any, and I do need them.

I am getting there with being ready to begin on ebay though, just need to get some packaging and i'm ready to go! My challenge this week is to put 2 things per day on turbo lister.

    Love to everyone

  • A big THANK YOU to everyone posting on this thread, you have really motivated me! Got so much done this afternoon, can't believe it! And big hugs to all the declutterers going through tough times - hang in there ladies!

Managed to clear the understairs enough to put my tumble dryer there (not been using it much anyway to save £, will be even less tempted now!), the spare room has carpet visible for the first time since I moved in, have assembled two bookshelves and filled them with books/DVDs from the spare room, plus sorted a bag of books for charity shop. Collected a black bag full of rubbish and sorted everything in the spare room into neatly-stacked boxes, so I can take one at a time and go through it and there's no more scary piles of unknown stuff!

Thought it would take me forever to get organised but now I've started I really think I can do it and have a house I'll be proud of. Want to get everything straight and uncluttered then thinking of starting Flylady, as I'm rubbish with housework and think it could work wonders for me, given how much this thread has inspired me to do already!

I do so love the MSE forums, you guys are AMAZING! :T
