What a great idea! - Thanks for this one I shall use it as my motivational "mantra" for this week
sometimes it's hard to look at things without thinking "what if" or "ooh I might need that if xyz...." etc but I think this could help create a bit of a ruthless streak....
keep going everyone!0 -

Went to the tip today and dropped off a carload of stuff, which felt awesome. It really was all just junk so I was glad to see the back of it! Have got rid of...
- 3 bags of old papers/magazines
- 3 bags of old textiles/clothes
- lots of cardboard boxes from old appliances and polystyrene from the loft
- a few broken appliances - old cd player, mouse, showerhead
- 1 gloopy nail polish
- 1 horrible lipbalm
- 4 items of clothing that were beyond repair
Still pending - 19 items on ebay (6 selling so far)
- several bags of clothes that I need to either sell or ditch
- 4 pairs of old spectacles to be recycled
- a huuuuuuge amount of stuff in the loft (in a pile but it wouldn't all fit into the car today, there was that much of it!)
- clothes to be returned for a refund

Hello
My flat is such a tip:eek::eek:
This thread is so inspiring. I'm going to:
Sort out my 100s of books
Shred old bills and other papers
Sort out my clothes (all over the place at the mo)
Will report back with my progress.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
Hi there everyone :hello:
I would love to join in if that's ok??? I am moving this year, so intend on getting rid of everything I possibly can. New Year, new start...
So....
In: Bag of clothes from Freecycle
Have finally braced the loft and it wasn't as bad as it could be, OH had a bonfire in the garden...
Out: Bank statements and other 'stuff' dating back to 2000
Sorted out 5 Me to You Bears and 3 Nao figurines to list on ebay.
Couple of other items for ebay.
All the boxes from the loft from stuff I no longer have...

In: Only consumables and some christmas/ birthday gifts for the year ahead.
Out: I now have skirting and door frames in my kitchen. So the bits aren't cluttering up my dining room floor, yay! The last couple of pieces will be attatched to the bathroom walls tomorrow night and there may even be enough to make a door frame for the bathroom (double yay if so!).
Pending out, stair underlay which is still lying in a heap in the hallway.
All ironing was up together so hopefully DH will have put away his clothes. He still needs to box in the kitchen pipework so I can declutter the tiles, adhesive and grout by sticking them to the wall. Then I can declutter the tile cutter to the shed woop woop!
Hypno, really sorry to hear about your news. Is it worth looking on freecycle for both of you to be able to furnish your missing bits? There must be people like us in your local area who would be relieved to see the back of stuff?
Or how about thesofaproject.org.uk ? I think it covers a fair amount of the uk but could be wrong?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Good Morning All - Glad we are all continuing to strong with decluttering. The easiest thing to do is to do nothing - just shove it back in the drawer/cupboard/box (balanced on another box which is teetering on top of a pile of ....) and pretend its OK. But actually we know the clutter is lurking behind you (possibly laughing or pulling faces). So today I continue with the "bin bag a day keeps the blues at bay" regime. I actually had to shut my eyes chucking stuff in the skip at the tip yesterday. Please tell me I am not alone with this emotional attitude (OH has no idea that I am screwed up like this).
MMStay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.
£2 savings pot (started Oct 09) £182 so far (£100 of which is banked)

Out: A book sold on AmazonSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
In - nothing
Out - 1 bag to charity - no-one here seems to notice that I fill every charity bag that comes!
Am currently trying to de-scale the iron!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hi everyone
Can't believe how big this thread is, and growing so fast. Welcome to all the new declutterers
Another three boxes of stock out of the house in the past two days, and today I am moving about thirty books out of my book mountain in the bedroom :T The thought of how nice it will look with the new carpet, bedding and curtains is helping.
I've decided that because I keep some business stock here, I will never be totally decluttered, but if I can limit it to one bedroom I'll be happy
Catch you all later xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
