Morning
Work again today, so no decluttering againEbay going well, 14 items selling, and lots of other with watchers, so fingers crossed.
DH read in our local paper that there is a sale at a library on Saturday, which includes books, CDs and DVDs, so foresee a bit of a problem there. Can someone please tell me how to part with books, I find that really hard.
Have a good day everyone

Good Morning All! Yesterday I bought a pasta machine - I have an awful feeling I may not use it enough to justify the space it takes, but we'll see! OUT went several more piles of paper from the dining room. Need to do cooking today for tomorrow night's party, but am hoping to clear a bit from the bedroom as well.Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -

I'd like to join. Have been decluttering rubbish for the last month, but am hoping to move in the next year or 2, and don't really want to move my clutter with me. A lot of my remaining clutter (and there is a lot :k ) is junk, but I shall be trying freecycle, ebay, amazon, play.com to get rid of some of the not so junky stuff.
One habit that I have been working on is dealing with mail. rather than letting it pile up on a desk I now deal with it as soon as it comes into the house. junk mail goes straight into the recycling bin, bank statements etc get filed straight away, other stuff gets "actioned" the same day and either filed or binned as necessary (e.g. querying a bill, looking through a catalogue)
I'm another one of the "hangs onto it just in case" people, as well as finding it difficult to throw sentimental and "liked but broken/worn out" stuff away.

As today is "bedroom day" on flylady, I am intending to declutter my cosmetic bag(s) and get rid of anything that hasn't been used in 2009.....I know that make up has a "shelf life" but I think some bits and pieces have been in there for 10 or 15 years and never used because they went out of fashion, or were not right for my skin type/tone in the first place.....
That in turn should create a bit of space on the bathroom windowsill and in my bedside cabinet.......I will report back in due course!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Yesterday, I took 5 things back to the shops and sorted my plastic bottles out to take to the recycling - it started to snow so abandoned that idea - they can go today, not much else done, kept having dizzy spells so hubby sent me to bed, still don't feel right today but hopefully will get a few bits and pieces sorted.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

In: storecupboard staples and meat for the freezer with my Christmas money. 1 letter.
Out: 1 pair of shoes which let in water! As I found out when I wore them into townI don't think there'll be anything else to go today as I don't intend to do too much more work. I just want to stay on the sofa today.
