Mine does two a day!
How is he settling in? I like CSJ food personally!0 -
Chaya does 1/2 a day on Orijen, they lessen when on good food so don't worry! Every Dog is different on Orijen so I think it's a case of get a trial bag & see! Applaws is excellent also!0

Can we have a progress-report on Paddy, please? I want to hear about all his adorable foibles and habits, and some photos would be appreciated, too. Oh, and good luck at the vet's today: sounds like he'll be grateful once his anal-glands are sorted, poor lad.0

I'm so pleased for you both :j:j.
He looks adorable and sounds like he's settling in well.
Our cocker was also a shoe stealer, but he never chewed them just wanted to sleep with them :rotfl:. Weird dog!!
I also think the deafness is selective, he's probably far too busy getting used to all the lovely new smells and is distracted.
What a lovely end to Paddy's rehoming story and great start to your new life together! Paddy is a fab name too.0 -
I am looking at food for my boy. I really like the marketing blurb for Orijen and have completely fallen for it.
You hethmar have tried it, so why go back to Royal Canin?
You obviously noted a difference, what was it?
At present, Paddy is being fed on what I have left from Jaffa. That is, dozens of Hill Science tins plus biscuits.
Five poos today is not good, plus more. There are posters on here who say, "my dog does one a day"
Why can't I get a one a day dog?
Noah (a cat) reduced overnight from three stinkers to one small not smelly doing when I switched from Felix/ JWB to raw/ Applaws/ Orijen etc. :j I find I can add in the occasional day of lower quality foods without causing major problems - maybe you could start the switch to Orijen then use up the Hills bit by bit?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
What a lovely thread to read through.
Really glad you found a faithful friend, Mutter. I wouldn't be without my pooches.
I find CSJ a very good food for a very good price. Might be some trial and error before you find out what suits your lad.
Hope he is settling in nicely!:heart2: Katie & Benjy - I'll meet you at Rainbow Bridge......:heart2:0 -

Mutter, seriously - give him chappie for awhile - its brilliant to settle the stomach down and it is fish based - just don't let him breathe on you too much after eating....Genie

Congratulations! I hope you have many happy years together.
We feed our dogs on pedigree chum and bakers biscuits his tummy will settle down after a few days of getting use to the food you are going to feed him.
My dog is being spayed on thursday

Hi, I think may be the orijen is meant for more active dogs than mine - Ralph is disabled. I dont want him putting on too much weight. Also, their breath smells very strongly when they eat orijen, more so than on RC and salmon oil even. I just thought Id see how the RC goes down if I introduce that again.
I get the orijen through quidco to zoo plus by the way.
Oh Steph, forgive me, but pedigree chum and bakers ..............not good.
Good luck for thursday.0
