Afternoon ladies
Well I have done bag all today apart from sleep on the sofa and coach DS through cooking a roast chicken dinner, which he did very successfully.
Welcome to mushypeas, dreamer2010 and yorkshirelass. Welcome back to catznine.
As for allowing releasing the apron strings on the children. DS (the sensible one) was allowed to walk the mile home from school when he was in year 5 on the condition that he came straight home and didnt go near any shops. He wasnt allowed into town on a Saturday with his mates as although we have a small town and it is within walking distance, there are groups of kids hanging about, some make trouble some dont and I just didnt want him caught up in it. Unfortunately my friend found out the hard way, her daughter was with some friends when they started shoplifting (stuff in her size not theirs) so she was hauled in to the police station with them, DNA'd, fingerprinted and questioned just for being with them. DS was actually glad I had not allowed him into town. He would ask if I was going into town and would come with me if he wanted to get something until he was 16 or so. DD however will be a different story. She will be 11 in March and are still debating whether she should be allowed to walk to/from school on her own. One day left to decide  !!!!
Right I have to update finances, probably see you on the new threadMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Good Evening AllWell I am drunk :rotfl:, done ,my meal plan this morning and planned lazy day as party tonight was cancelled due to the house we were going to being unaccessable due to snow  so my cus and her bf asked if we were watching footy - Jinky you will understand my DH is a Rangers Fan, cus and her BF are celtic fans (I am motherwell) so was a lotta fun, but they were our first foots, so a lot of alcohol consumed (for the un-scottish rangers-celtic are known as the old firm) and according to most football fans the best teams in the league (with the exception of Motherwell FC
of course) So before they came, I done loads of flying in case you think am slacking, I S & S kitchen, loaded WM & TD & WM again, took down all decs and boxed/taped them up and put into teeny tiny loft/tree in garage then swept up and tidied LR altho it never took much before vistiors came, cooked loadsa food for half time and decluttered it as well:rotfl:so am just on to say good luck to everyone going back to school/work routine tomorrow, hope you are not too tired, am not back until tuesday
(used a days holiday as thought party was tonight ) I will be at gym tomorrow, back in the "rat race" tomorrow which am dreading and DS said he doesn't want to go bak to his childminder, he is not even 3 yet but its been good having family time together
ETA: I took down the decs n tree etc before visitors came, just reaed that back and it never made sense :rotfl: :rotfl::TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
Long Term Flylady0 -
Hello all :hello:
Newbie wishing to fly lady here - I've tried to join in the past... but then I worked in one city and lived in another and it got toooooo complicated . Now I'm back home (nearly) all week and want to sort stuff out for once and for good. Please may I join you crazy, but obviously lovely lot?

Hellooooo there!! Remember me??;) Long time no see:D
My job for tonight is to get DS super organised for school incase he doesn't have much time after his paper round in mornings.
I've also got dishes to put away, a few clothes to put away and maybe I'll have time to be a rock goddess on guitar hero!:DBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -

That is amazingly organised :T
My surplus stuff is being taken to the scrap store on Thursday, I am sure they have space there to keep it as they tend to do a small christmas table of bits.
Letting kids flap their wings I think depends so much on the child. DS1 is nearly 16 and never been to town on his own, he doesn't like shops or shopping, he is more than happy to go to the golf club on his own though and happy to buy food/drink at the bar. He walked to school with me all the way through primary as I was always taking younger siblings and he wanted to walk with us. It didn't affect him when he moved to secondary but he did walk with the lad next year for the first couple of terms. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Decorations all down.
Lil_me - you'll relate to this one I'm sure. We put DS's lego in our bedroom during our New Year's Eve party. I just went to move it all back to his room and dropped the biggest one that we spent hours making after Christmas :eek::eek:. It's just taken an hour to put it back together.
Now I really do need to lie down! :rotfl: xx0 -

Hi all, well didn'y manage to get my chicken as lady had to reschedule, plus its iced up everywhere here so I'm happy to wait.
Declutered 3 more v. large bags of rubbish from some wicker baskets I had.
I've also been ruthless with old birthday cards and stuff so they've gone too.
Sorted out my bedside drawers, one is filled with chocolate.:D
Made a huge sunday roast and homemade yorkshires (usually buy my yorkshires from lidl):p. Also made the sauce for my lasagne which should do a couple of them judging by the size of the batch of sauce.
Having some 'head space at the mo and then will have a bath/shower and watch a bit of telly.
GnB aww belated birthday greetings to your LO.
Lil-me, sausage pie should be illegal, its vomit-tacious....:rotfl:
Jinky glad you and your DD are having a lovely time.
