Have done bits and bobs today and been really good staying off computer till now.
Start new job tomorrow so am getting everything ready in plenty of time tonight and then early night. No idea what I'll be up to cos I won't have a class for the first time ever, so no classroom, in fact not even a desk to call my own so will have to be very organised with all my stuff so I don't lose it all over school lol!
Have just had a mad dash to Mr A, Mr T and Mr M cos dd confessed she has cut a hole in her school pinafore dress when making a snowflake before Christmas - dh has washed it and not realised it wasn't supposed to have a hem like a paper doiley :rotfl:
Also - don't know if anyone on here does their own bread but Mr A is doing baking goods 2 for £1 including all hovis bread mixes! Bought a few to try out - they all have nice long dates on (july & august on the ones I picked up) so would be good value I thinkMortgage £119,533 going down slowly

We're back - DD's friends have just come back for half an hour as we picked them up at 12 and we didn'y come out of the theatre until 4.15. DD wants me to make Twinks to take to school for her tomorrow for her birthday - which is the last thing I feel like doing at the moment - I don't even know what we're having for tea. Do I have to go back to work tomorrow?NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Not yet - the plumber's coming out first thing tomorrow - he could have come today but it was a £60 call-out and seeing as we were going to be out most of the day there didn't seem much point.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Thing is Pigpen, yours is a big town/city. This is a little town with a small town centre. It does depend on the kids, too. I wouldn't be happy about her going into Sheffield City Centre on her own but Meadowhall is different, as she can get public transport directly there. They tend to go in a group of 4, too, and DD is a sensible girl.
We 'fed' DD (and DS) into walking to school on their own at primary, in the last year. But it wasn't just a case of sending her out one morning to do the whole walk; as she had a 'busy' road to cross so she would be walked to that road and met there at the end of the day and crossed it on her own, but under supervision.
this is so not a big town.. and everyone knows everyone else so sooner or later no matter what you do it gets back to your parents. .. these could get the bus at the end of the street right into the centre of the main shopping bit.. couple of small shopping centres and the odd street of shops.. not a lot really.. they does tend to be groups of kids lurking about which is what I don't like.. I don't find them intimidating I find they are usually quite polite but.. they do encourage each other to do stupid things and it is that I am keen to avoid.
Another of DD's friends are so over molly coddled and namby pambied BUT.. she was born a few weeks early.. the day her sister was killed in a hit and run.. so while I can sympathise with the parents I also really feel for the daughter who, up until now is barely let out of sight.. her mum rings her at school on a lunch tie to see if she is ok.. fed enough, warm enough etc... and she has to text her mum when she arrives at school and when she is leaving.. it is very sad on so many levels.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi!
I am absolutely shattered! Didnt sleep at all well and was up at 6.45 ready for a good hill/small mountain walk for 7.30.
It took much longer than ususal due to the snow and ice and came down part of it on my bum! The dogs were worn out and snored the rest of the day.
After that I did the ironing, had roast pork at mils and then did the shopping. Oh I meal planned before shopping as well....................what have you all done to me??!!
I have salad to sort out for lunch tomorrow and work clothes to get together.
There are also some thorntons to be decluttered.....................shhhh!
Might see you later, might not. Is it too early for bed yet?
1 step xxIf you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!0 -
Hello all,
Did my shop.....so much for it being cheap
In true fashion, I did not stick to my list.....and bought some extras- but all healthy.... no biscuits, crisps, or chocolate.
There was a stock up and save promotion on in Asda, so bought lots of laundry liquid/fabric softener/fabreze/dog food etc and I also bought a rattan storage box for the living room to hide some of the kiddie/dog paraphenalia which eternally seems to be lying around. And a wicker storage hamper for the spare room for towels.
All in all, I spent about the same as I would have but am now stocked up on cleaning products and dog food so should save in the long run.
Chicken casserole from the SC has been eaten by me and little one with a lovely granary crusty baguette - It was lush, even if I do say so myself. And there is some left over so that will do me for lunch at work on Tuesday.
Off to do our dishes now and iron littleys school clothes.....Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
