I have just been out and swept the snow away from the car and scraped the ice off it - the snow had melted (when the sun hit it earlier) and half slid down the glass IYSWIM and then has frozen again, quite thickly, so I thought if I scraped if off now there MIGHT be less to do in the morning. It is clearly below freezing out there though.
Checked the shovel and have brought my emergency bag in to check and refill as necessary (hike boots, wellies, thick socks, hat, extra gloves).
Please don't go out in your car without extra warm clothing for EVERYONE. And a fully charged mobile.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

SIL REALLY !!!!ed off DH and he went to fly into a strop with me until I pointed out hey, it's not my fault. He apologised immediately saying he realises she !!!!ed him off so I didn't get the full extent of his frustration (thankfully). Families eh.
He's taken the kids out with the dog and I'm half way through my typing but got to stop now to get tea sorted. They'll be hungry when they get in so need the smell of cooking wafting through the house.
I'm pleased as I've done almost everything I set out to do today and should be able to make it to Church - not looking forward to walking up there as there's a steep hill to go up/down and by the time I get there it'll be icy. Best put on my walking shoes methinks.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

Hope you are having a lovely time together and that she will want to come and visit again real soon. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Lots more stuff cooked and some clearing up done. DW emptied and filters cleaned. Just going to close the windows as it's getting cold and the sun is going in now...
Need to call a few people and check my work diary. I'd forgotten that part of the problem with trying to get to early morning gym sessions at the moment is that it's cold in the mornings!!!0 -
Nice to have some 'girly' time with your DD Jink.
Mine's gone to Meadowhall - never asked how she got there but hope she remembers how to catch the train back this time! She was at a sleepover last night.
She has one friend who isn't even allowed into the town centre here on her own yet - they're 14 this year! Sadly they have stopped inviting her to join them at things as there's 'no point' (their words not mine) and she gets embarrassed ...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Just back from DPs club, only managed to put a load in WM & clean the spilt milk off the car so far. Snowed since about 3am stopped about noon but more forecast. Hope the ones who came up from Wetherby..eeek...get home ok.
My youngest child has gone to play in snow and done a bunk, I said stay out the front, so I best go find him, grrr I also said back when it goes dark, I should have been more literal as the street lights are now on as his brother said.
Oh and remember me mentioning mt heating was being daft, wouldn't work at all this morning & dropped all it's pressure so I'll have to ring council in morning. Definately a plus of renting as I know it won't cost me to fix it.

I'm having mine up for one more night, it has been a lovely tree. All the other decs are down (apart from the door ones outside which will stay until twelfth night) and boxed for putting away. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
