I do it far too often. It's easier than doing stuff :o

Greenbee - apologies if I am 'teaching me granny to suck eggs' here but I hope you are joking about living on soup? Your body goes into crisis and stockpiles every calorie it can, and you can't run or exercise. Not speaking from experience or anything :o.
You see, I don't really like the chicken... I prefer chicken stock with spinach and noodles... My problem with eating is that I either eat far too much or not nearly enough (I can happily go through the day and not make it over 800 calories... at the same time I can also happily it 3000 it just depends on the kind of food), so I really have to plan and weigh...

I'm going to try to have either porridge & fruit plus juice for breakfast or muesli, yogurt & fruit plus juice during the week. That give me two portions of fruit and one of calcium plus a little protein and some complex carbs. I can't do eggs for breakfast in the week unfortunately, but will try at weekends.

Lunch will be either past/rice/potato salad with lots of veggies & eggs/cheese/fish/tofu (when at work) or soup & oatcakes (when at home)

It's just the afternoons/evenings that I need to work out and until I'm in a routine with the gym etc I'm not sure how it will go. If i'm going to the gym in the evenings I'll probably need to have a more substantial lunch, something around 5ish and then soup or scrambled eggs/baked beans when I get home.

As well as soup, I do have plenty of other stuff to eat - there'll be chicken, mushroom & leek casserole; sausage cassoulet and some little veggie pies. After next weekend I'll probably also have some pigeon or goose casserole. All of which will be eaten with lots of vegetables and rice/quinoa/barley/wheat/couscous/potatoes/pasta.

As I said, I just need to plan & weigh so that I don't have to think about it... I'm also not going to fill the wine rack until absolutely necessary.

Froddy - walk stuff posted... haven't been able to decide on the day, but if you don't have a preference we'll just have to stick a pin in the calendar! Anyone else who wants to join us in our attempt to do lots of hampshire walks just shout!

Chicken stock decanted; lentil soup in pots ready to eat/freeze; need to remove chicken meat from carcass and make another batch of stock, then deal with the chicken meat and clean up the kitchen yet again. There's a fan that needs to go in the shed, and the tree & decorations need to come down. And as I've got backache, I need to go for a walk to the post box, to post the stuff that I forgot about when I was at the post office yesterday

Then back to the grindstone with laundry/cleaning/cooking in preparation for next week...

Still working away here - done all the ironing and me and DS are now taking down the decorations. DH has gone to B&Q and DD is playing on the PS2 - the dog is giving me strong 'take me for a walk' looks, but she'll have to hold on for a bit!

Embb good news on the new freezer!

I really enjoyed listening to my meeting today, it was really upbuilding. Before it started I listed somethings on ebay and after it ended, I put on the Strictly Xmas special and did some washing up.

Going to list some more things on ebay now

Re the snow - I just heard something on the radio that made me laugh.

Apparently those people who went to the Tan Hill Inn on the Yorkshire Moors to see the New Years in are still there! It snowed so heavily, they can't leave yet.....

and they are being charged a tenner a night each...

Wm x 1, now dried, ironing done apart from last few items, I'll do more shortly.

Glad you enjoyed your meeting Rosie you sound much brighter :T x

Been in littleys room for the past hour and only just made a dent in it, now, considering we're emptying everything it's pretty good, 5 bin bags filled up to now and she's being very good, I explained to her rather calmly :A that when you have new stuff to replace the old stuff it's customery to chuck the old stuff out not keep it, think I got through, some of the stuff is same age as her almost 10 yrs  I would have flung it yonks ago but she's a hoarder and a sentimental one at that which isn't good, definitely gets THAT from her Pa!

Fag break and brought a couple of bags down with me then back to it. :T

Good point... I think I'll take the last pot of stewed apple out of the freezer before I put anything in that looks like it! Currently I'm doing chicken stock, which goes in clear pots, and puy lentil soup that I should recognise ;). I have a vague system with the different types of pots, so I'll have to make sure I stick to it carefully... how I'll fit it all into one freezer I have no idea...

I'm now washed, moisturised (I've been getting such dry skin lately I've decided to use oil as much as possible for the moment), cleaned my teeth (I've been very slack about using my interdental brushes recently... however, that's another good habit I'm going to try to get myself back into!), friend rung (she can't make it for a walk today, but has confirmed for next Sunday). Off to get some more things done while its daylight, get moving and get some fresh air...

Actually I always think how yummy and varied your meal plans sound, especially since you are catering for one.
I get the feeling one of your secrets is batch cooking esp. the casseroles.

We've got 2 serial hoarders here - one is my DH and the other is my DD! Makes it soooo hard to get rid of stuff; DD cries sometimes if I sort her room out, she finds it really difficult so of course I can't be a mean Mum and have let some stuff stay. Now she's a bit older we've said she can't have new stuff if she still has old stuff and she is finally 'getting' the whole Charity shop concept. Just this morning she let me put an old pair of PJs and a cardi she's grown out of into the bag for the charity shop.

    You're doing great!
