Hiya to everyone.
Rach - I'd love your carrot/parsnip soup recipe please - thank you!
I've put the washing machine and the dishwasher on and then played around with my computer. I'm about to log off and take the decorations down though....they need to go! It'll probably take me three weeks so see you in February:rotfl:xx0 -
Well after trying to hide in bed all day we have done quite well. Found the floor in Miss A and W's rooms and hoovered them. We still need to thin out the toys etc but baby steps and all that. Later I should be able to put away the fresh ironing. WM has been on and DW unloaded. All in all not too bad.
Totally caught up on the thread as well which is a bonusRant alert Why do I pay the same council tax as people on bus routes when they get their roads and pavements gritted and we don't, I think we should get a reduction rant over
I rang our council to ask for a refund on council tax as we are paying and they are not providing a service! The answer was their vehicles could not get on side streets or cul de sacs (which account for 90% of the village) I pointed out that every other organisation could get on here so it was a rather poor excuse. When I asked about gritting (or lack of) they said parish council have to supply grit bins and county have to fill them :mad:Been in littleys room for the past hour and only just made a dent in it, now, considering we're emptying everything it's pretty good, 5 bin bags filled up to now and she's being very good.......... some of the stuff is same age as her almost 10 yrs  ...... she's a hoarder and a sentimental one at that which isn't good
Both DH and I are hoarders which is not good, and it has been passed on to the kids  I am hoping to 'rationalise' our stuff this year!Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

I speak as one who cried for 20 mins at the end of Dr Who AND shed a tear or two at the very end of Casualty and often cries while reading a novel! But I do realise not everyone is moved by the same things!
but it is so not real.. or even anything like reality.. we have odds on who is going to die because someone always does.. and I am igoring the dr Who bit..rosepink1984 wrote: »i know i know I'm a pathetic wimp. Have been feeling tearful for a few days and it just touched me. And there were people crying on the TV and I always cry when other people are crying. And a baby died. Can't cope with that.
it was obvious from his birth he was going to die at some point in his first year.. to make all the stuff from the last year appear irrelevant and even more 'wrong'.. but no baby died.. noone did... or ever does... but if relesing the tears has made you feel better it had a good outcome..
GnB.. I hope titch had a good birthday and super-strength flylady healing vibes coming through so she can have her surgery before the pain gets bad.

Level Two
Clean out the fridge..
OPTIONAL LIST FOR THE MASOCHISTS AMONG US!- Budget and meal plan for next month.. most of us will be a little strapped for cash.
- Clean pets out.. and their beds and bowls!
I'll do the meal plan after dinner and i really need to keep it cheap. I've managed to get myself into trouble again regarding debts. I was doing well until last month and then the phone calls started just before christmas and i'm sure they will start again tomorrow. So i am determint to get it sorted and i know it will take alot of disapline(sp) but i just need to figure out where to start so it will be a cuppa and paperwork tonight.:oSometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Hi all hope you are ok.
I had a horrendous night which has been followed by a horrific morning. My little ones friend was here and didnt want to sleep....he was still jumping on the bed at 11.30 last night. As a result, my little one, who is never up so late, was exhausted this morning and didnt wake for a wee and wet the bed at 6.30.... so I was up again.
Quilt has been through the washer and in TD, sheets are washed and waiting for the dryer now too.
Chicken casserole is in the slow cooker with some more of the veg I was trying to use up and the kids were fed and breakfast dishes done. Ive taken down some of the washing which is dry from yesterday, but its not all dry yet so I cant get all the wet stuff hung up!!
I did 30 minutes on the Wii fit and it told me I have gained 1st and 2lb since the last time I was on it, which was a year ago.... so there is no hiding the fact I am over 1 stone heavier than I was this time last year.
This inspired me to making sure my eating plan stays on track so I have also cleared my pinboard in the ktichen which had receipts on it from 2007.... and have pinned up my food plans for the next few weeks and the appropriate shopping lists. Ive also pinned an envelope to it so I can put my shopping receipts in and keep better track of spending. Ive also finally attached fixings to the back to I can hang the pinboard up instead of propping it up on top of the work surface! I just need to buy some string to get it up.
However, in the process of looking for the toolbox and fixings for the pinboard, I discovered that the toolbox was buried under a load of carrier bags which seems to have multiplied in the cupboard...:rotfl:
Disturbingly, one of the carrier bags right at the bottom had some potatoes in it!!! Which were black and there were loads of fruit flies and what appeared to be mouse droppings.....:eek::eek::eek:_pale__pale__pale_
This cupboard is by my back door and is against the outside wall - so the little blighters have been getting into my house!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
the contents of the cupboard have been thrown away and the carpet at the bottom chucked and the floor bleached.
Ive got to laugh...... I wonder what else today will bring xx :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Am off to do my shop - this should cheer me up as the plan is to spend a minimal amount xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

jo humane mouse trap and chocolate, but remember to check it before the little guy/s die of starvation.
Well tree is out, DH is making a hamfisted job of clearing up the needles, I have opened up all the Christmas naffarama (singing, saxophone-playing santas and reindeer) and worked out which need new batteries and what type for next year.
Day is going way too fast, we didn't wake up until 9 something. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Jo.. were the 'mouse droppings' maybe the 'cocoons' from the maggots turning into fruit flies? They are usually reddish brown but if have been there in potato goo for a day or 2 they do turn black and look for all the world like mouse poop.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Then drive about 20 miles away to release them as they have a huge homing range for such small things... or else get a proper trap (or I'll send you a cat or 3) and get rid of them for everyone else too!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
