Morning - cant tell you what its doing outside today as I can hardly get my piggy eyes open. Feeling bleugh so am going to have a day on the sofa in my PJ's with a box of tissues, bottle of Karvol, pack of cold and flu tabs and the children as my slaves :rotfl: (once they drag themselves from their pits of course)

Light snow/heavy frost here but a lovely bright day. Perfect for winter walking.

I need to bag up the cardboard and plastic mountain today ready for the recycling lorry tomorrow so at least it isn't raining. The main bin doesn't get collected till Friday - nearly three weeks since the last collection and we are not allowed to put extra bags out . It makes you very disciplined about what does actually go in the bin.

Greenbee - apologies if I am 'teaching me granny to suck eggs' here but I hope you are joking about living on soup? Your body goes into crisis and stockpiles every calorie it can, and you can't run or exercise. Not speaking from experience or anything :o.

We have had lunch out of 'nothing' every day through the holidays and people are staring to complain about soup yet again so I am glad it is Sunday and therefore a roast today. I used to not eat soup either Mudbath, and DHs XWused to feed them nothing else so he isn't a big fan either. I make 'mushroom', 'celery and stilton' (thanks to Sunnygirl), 'butternut and chilli', and 'carrot and coriander' mostly. Need some more recipes though. My attempts at chicken soup were just awful so steering clear of that in future.

I need to get dressed and get on with something. My habits are slipping, I usually don't switch the laptop on till I am dressed.

  • Morning all

Another light fall of snow this morning - I gather it dumped badly on Edinburgh yesterday

Positive 'organised flylady' vibes to all those getting ready for return to school/work.

kaz - 'get better' vibes and long-range hugs
Ishtar - enjoy your ride. I have a friend whose daughter has her own horse and they are up at the stables once if not twice every day - however bad the weather is.

Re the snow - I just heard something on the radio that made me laugh.

Apparently those people who went to the Tan Hill Inn on the Yorkshire Moors to see the New Years in are still there! It snowed so heavily, they can't leave yet.....

Jinkypinks - I love the idea that carrot cake can be cake and one of your five a day too giggle.gif. Really glad you have your daughter with you for a few days too.

You can't cry at Casualty... for a start it isn't real.. and second.. well.. it isn't real!! And it is all so very obvious!
i know i know I'm a pathetic wimp. Have been feeling tearful for a few days and it just touched me. And there were people crying on the TV and I always cry when other people are crying. And a baby died. Can't cope with that.

:rotfl:If you are going to be snowed in, then a pub is a good place!

Feeling absolutely rubbish again today. I think I need to go to bed earlier so that I get more sleep. Can't cope with not enough sleep. Tired, tearful, miserable.

Going to try to have a bath, and wash up, but going to listen in to my meeting first.

    Have a good day everyone

  • I also cried buckets at casualty - and I know its not real - but why can't they, just for once, have a happy ending - it would take us all by surprise then.

Well, I haven't done very well on any of the things i set out to achieve in the New Year but it was my daughters birthday and party for 40 kids yesterday so think I can be excused (please with cherries on top!) and we have another party to go to today. However, I still want to get on top of the housework so my question to you is - does a new list come out each week for the things we have to do or is it the same one each week? when should I be looking out for the new one?

I've started the Ebaying but it's boring me already:rolleyes:

    Anyone fancy a HHC 10.00 - 10.30?
  • i couldn't watch Casualty......I knew something bad would happen.

My sis popped in yesterday - she'd done well with the Christmas presents...DVD about the moon for OH, baskets of cosmetic stuff for the kids....but yet again she'd bought me a CD I already have!:rolleyes:

I wouldn't mind....but she does this regularly! At least this time she took it back to rehome it!:T

Tag - I will join you for the HHC.

Rosepink - I cry when other people cry too. And I cry at the same bits of some books every time which is worse becuase I know it is going to happen. You are not alone!
