The idea was that we're taking them to see the pantomine and then they were coming back here so that they'd got chance to actually play together so we'd still be going to the panto but DD really wants to be able to spend some time actually playing with them as well as obviously this was instead of her having a party.
Is it warm enough for them to play in the room that the fire is in? I know its a pain for you... but could she bring her toys down there? If she doesn't want you in the room... best way to keep the kitchen warm is to have a mammoth cooking session!
Can't remember what time the chicken went into the SC  but I'm thinking about switching it off and going to bed (apparently going to bed at 10pm helps with weight loss... along with eating two eggs for breakfast... and soup for lunch... and not sitting on your bottom drinking wine & eating chocolate).
Fire is going nicely this evening - it's hot enough that I've chucked some coal on to see how it gets on tonight... but mixing wood and coal makes the glass dirty, so i'm going to have to let it out tomorrow anyway and give it a good clean. The living room needs a hoover and dust anyway... much like the rest of the house.
Lots of lentil soup and chicken broth ready for tomorrow... and the chicken which I'll have to turn into something (and freeze.... I prefer to live on soup if possible!)0 -
Good evening all
I spent the last two days not achieving a great deal. I had huge lie-ins, which didn't actually do me any good, and not a very good night last night, but at least DH and I are talking again for the first time since boxing day.
Yesterday I went into town to deliver SIL's birthday cards, and then on to MIL's. At 8pm DS1 phoned and asked if I could pick him up from his GF's, so that was most of the evening done. I also managed to catch up with the thread, which I really enjoyed doing.
Today DH wanted to go out and as he doesn't often get a Saturday off and I didn't want to ruin his good mood straight away, I agreed. We had a good afternoon and I managed not to spend too much. After that, grocery shopping at Mr M.
At the moment I'm sitting on the sofa with a warm lavender pillow for my sore neck, waiting for the pain killer to do it's job. Then I've got to get going - got about 3 hours before DH is due back home. I'll have a look at the list, but may start on taking decorations down, rather than wait until tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good evening

Dunno where me list has gone but there is nothing more to cross off it anyway!
My knees ache from sitting at this desk most of the day, decluttering the filing cabinet and listing on Ebay! I've listed my 10 things for today though. 10 more tomorrow and then I'm up to date and can go back to just doing 5 a day!:D It's taking longer as I 'lost' a load of piccies and write up's to copy and paste somewhere, somehow:mad::mad: God knows how I managed it.
I still have the shredded paper to clear away but the kittens have been sleeping and playing in it most of the day! But at least I've tackled a major job and everything is more findable.:D Which on second thoughts is not a good thing where Miss Tag is concerned cos that makes it more takeable!!!!:rolleyes:
Enough from me. I'm off to bed with my book and everything else can wait until tomorrow!:p:p

I'm really pleased for you jinky. Bet your chuffed!!0 -
juliejim aww bless, maybe if you put it as 'two birthdays' so she could have friends to panto then another play day when you are sorted? If I was closer you could have borowed my small heater but might have been risky with youngsters playing. I think it's sometimes a relief having 2 boys who aren't as social. greenbees idea might be doable if it's safe enough.
msgnomey great news for your DD
jinky enjoy your time, no flying allowed!
Fridge decluttered of egg trays etc, good look around so I know what is in there. I found some milk in the fridge I forgot was there which is handy, couple of bits put in the freezer, going to do a small shopping list for tomorrow & get tomorrows tea out.One day I might be more organised...........

We are actually planning to move away in the next year or so and we've had the same discussion about what order to do things in. We've decided to look for jobs first (as we want to go much more rural where jobs are scarce), and if one of us gets a decent job we will go as we have somewhere we can live (friend's empty place) very cheap for a while.poohbear59 wrote: »Find some crampons
For some reason we are watching Casualty, it's actually quite dramatic and interesting
