a long time on and still without the information I need.allocation questionaires send back asking for me to be struck out.feel im not going forwards but backwards. They are not going to give out the information logged onto the computer with the bank manager without a real fight,as this is evidence against them but at the same time I reallly dont know how they are able to withhold it.How do you force it out of them.Is the best idea to walk in the bank and say I tried to do it by the book,Now im not leaving to you get that printer working.0

What are you hoping to achieve with the case? From the sounds of it they have admitted liability, rectified the situation and offered you £250 compensation for distress and inconvenience (which is a lot). What are you actually claiming for?Getting married 02.08.14

I still do not know on what basis you are taking them to court.
I have tried to follow the etters you have written but i am struggling to understand the writting but can make out and invoice type thing from you to them for 2.5k that includs bits for vans and stuff. It all seems so randomMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
I am really annoyed that Natwest seem to think £250 covers all that they have put me through! For instance, i am claiming for: Loss of face in the business community, vat increase ( about £400 for my van!) .Loss of wages as self employed ( 8 meetings with Branch manager,) so had to leave jobs early...lost money!.Embassment of getting turned down for finance for a van twice, (as was unaware that Natwest had put markers on my credit file, the first time.) I then had to buy my new van from a different dealership, as i has been declined twice for finance! i was also mis-sold the ppi in the first place . I also still had to pay my employee, while i was in the bank meetings, so lost money there too. It's not just the inconvenience, its the stress and worry of not having a new van to get to work. As self- employed.....no work ....no money! £250 just does not cover my losses, let alone anything else!
Hope this makes my case a little clearer! Don't know if i will get anywhere, but i feel i cant just let them do this to me, and get away with such a small amount!0 -
To be honest, I don't think you have much of a chance. Have you taken legal advice on this? They will argue that you didn't have to leave work early, you could have dealt with it on the phone or in writing. The fact that you had to go to another dealership has nothing to do with it. Have you now been able to get credit once it's been sorted out? You would need to prove that the finance was declined solely on the late payment markers.Getting married 02.08.14

I understand your point. I did try and sort this over the phone, but really got nowhere. I had to go in to the branch to see the manager, to get the ball rolling. The point of the other dealership is that, they wouldn't deal with me anymore, as had been declined twice. Natwest assured me it was all fixed and i would have no more late markers....lo and behold was declined again! Checked credit report and there was another marker! That was embarrassing, caused soley by Natwest and their failure to sort this out!
Yes, i have finance for a van now. Had to pay extra as van i would have got a few months earlier, if Natwest had not messed my credit up, were out of stock. The vat had risen also by then....my credit history was all in order apart from this. Even the branch manager said this when he viewed my credit history. its all long winded.....sorry0 -
Now i have a nice shiny van !!!!0

No, i havent sought legal advice, as i thought natwest would be open to disscussion. I have tried to get Subject Access Request information from them. Their 40 days ran out in Feb, but as yet have recieved no info about this loan acct! Maybe i should get some advice, but it does seem clear to me that Natwest are in the wrong. would advice be to get some outside advice?0

Get outsie advice. If you are taking them to court claiming losses you need proper legal advice IMO and evidence to back u what you are saying.
Natwest has said oopsie corrected the error here is £250 goodwill. you say you want 2.5k. You needed to see a bank manager 1st to get ball rolling why not then communicate directly with that manager by phone/email?? Did the manager insist he/she needed to see you?? If you eft a job early why coudn't employee continue?? afterall was being paid for it. was there scope to have meetings friday afternoons?? workmen up here seem to be done for 2pm on a friday or even a saturday?? My local RBS opens until 4pm on saturdays now.
Do you have confirmation from prev finance comany that they would of supplied you finance if it was not for the black marks?? was a new van a neccesity or a want?? If neccesity why no proviso in you business finances for such a large purchase.
Bills for the telephone calls, receipts for letters etc etc. you need to account for every penny. and prove those costs are reasonable.
I think you stand little to no chance but I specialise in tax not law so this is purely my opinion. I would expect you to have answers to the above questions though.
I would report to ICO for failure to provide DPA information. I presume that they have cashed the £10 SAR fee?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
