The "we" in that sentence does not apply to everyone. I imagine lots of agnostics/atheists see Christmas as a time to get p**sed, and join in the commercialism of it all, expecting presents as a matter of course. That's their choice as is they way you choose to celebrate yours.
ah you see youve jumped the fence too quickly there im not religious as such

i believe in certain aspects but not all the tosh that goes with it

and yes i know some people just want to use it as an excuse to get sloshed and if they want to waste there money and feel rough for days after let them)
Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you

Well lesson learned now i suppose check beforehand.
I too didnt check beforehand and failed to spot my daughters doll pram that my parents had bought had no wheel attachmentss in the box!! A very sad 3 yr old on xmas morning, but got it sorted out on the 27th.

Surely you would of checked something of that cost and quality though?! I always check things especially if they are given to me in a sealed box as 9 out of 10 times something is missing - i have no luck lol x

A lesson learned. Especially with electrical items - when you should/would not only check that the item is in the box, but also check that it works.

Well I never check any box as I assume (obviously niavely) that the goods I am purchasing will be in there. Guess I have learned a lesson there, but still don't think the OP needs to be vilified for possibly making an error in judgement.

I am an atheist, so Christmas for me is all about the presents and spending time with my family is most definitely NOT what it is all about for me!

Why do peope think that there is only one way to celebrate something?

  • Last year I brought 3 lots of Microsoft Live Points from Choices, they were got from behind the counter by a sales assistant, for 3 nephews, I didnt notice if they were sealed or not, didnt even check, just wrapped them up and gave them out. Two of the boxes were empty, I felt very difficult taking them back but there were no problems. I had the original receipt and they were changed with no problems. Yes I felt as though I would not be believed but it was true and in any case there would be two as shown sold but in stock and excess cash in till when explored. It does happen and I never thought it would happen to me but it did. But I felt so embarrassed it wont happen again.
