OP hope you get this sorted and don't pay any attention to the criticisms about your child - any reasonable person will realise that children spend many weeks looking forward to Christmas and opening their presents. It doesn't follow that its the only thing they look forward to or that your family values are any less than anyone elses. I can imagine it would have been very disapointing for your son, not just because he didn't get his present but because he would have sensed your disapointment and felt bad for you.
Obviously I don't know you or you child but I think its a pretty fair bet that he still enjoyed his christmas and the disapointment will be forgoten quite quckly.
Not sure what advice I would offer to resolve it but i would certainly say keep on escalating until it does get sorted which will add to your credibilty. Difficult one.
 Best wishes0

You are of course right and I hate the commercialism as much as anyone - I'm not a christian myself but yes its a christian fetival and those are the underlying values.
But whether or not its right, Santa has also taken a front seat at Christmas for kids and the exhanging of gifts in many families has become as much a tradition as the re-unions and religous side.0

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Start your claim with a letter detailing your finacial losses, incovenience, pain and suffering from ruined Christmas. Don't forget to mention your son's anguish several times thoughout the letter and how you can't replace that time. That said however, you expect £x compensation would allow, for example allow a holiday to make up for your loss.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0

I thought that even the catholic church had accepted that Jesus, had he been born, wasn't around xmas time - that was purely set as the date to help push pagans into Christianity.0

Its an interesting story but sounds more like a silly mistake that hardly warrants compensation.
I had an interesting situation where B&Q became confused when I returned a cheap £60 toilet in the packaging of the £220 one I bought to replace it with. They thought I meant theyd sold me the dear one but with the cheap one wrongly inside.
It doesnt take a genious to work out how that scam could make you a packet!!!!0

And with that knowledge you chose to return a £60 product in the packaging of a £220 product. It doesnt take a genious to work out how that scam could make you a packet!!!! Worst you can end up is breaking even..or if they fall for it (and many B&Q staff probably would), you end up £160 in pocket. 0 Worst you can end up is breaking even..or if they fall for it (and many B&Q staff probably would), you end up £160 in pocket. 0
