Can anyone recommend a good cheap place online to buy supplies?

Hi, alot of people buy from http://www.cakecraftworld.co.uk/ as this seems to be the cheapest place, I aslo buy from my local cake shop as she sells everything I need at the same prices as cake craft world, I sometimes use ebay.

I get my cupcake boxes from here http://www.cakeboxesdirect.com/Cupcake-Boxes/View-all-products.html as it's cheaper to buy in bulk.

They also do cake boxes. http://www.cakeboxesdirect.com/White-Folding-Boxes/View-all-products.html. The boxes & cupcakes boxes come in large packs, 250, 100, 50 etc.

    Hope that helps.:)

hi, i havent posted on here for a while-been a busy lady! i wanted some advice form you ladies...i bought a oneida cupcake carrier, it has a muffin tray that you can use to cook as well as carry and a seperate tray for 12 more cupcakes. the thing is, its crap! the bottom tray is great for cooking and carrying MUFFIN sized cupcakes and thats it. if they're any smaller you cant get them out and believe me, thats not a good look infront of a customer! If you have any form of topping on a muffin size you cant use the top tray and it also cant be used if you make muffins with a topping either! a waste of £24! so whats the next best thing? im thinking boxes with a transparent lid but im struggling to find any that will hold muffin sized cupcakes with a good helping of swirl! any help is very much appreciated! im getting desperate as i need to transport 300 cupcakes in just over a weeks time and i have nothing to use! xxx

Somebody also suggested taking the cupcakes plain, and pipe the icing when you get there?

Just to let you know if you go with the boxes I use they do stack on top of one another, so you should be able to take them all in one go. I've only got a small fiesta & have fitted 160 cupcakes in 4 boxes in the back easily & could have definitely fitted another 4 boxes in. (I'm going on being able to fit 40 cupcakes in each box... if you don't use plastic cupcake holders inside for support like I do you could fit more in each box though.)

  • Hi! It is my dream to open a cafe one day selling lots of lovely cupcakes, pastries and sandwiches etc. however I cannot bake AT ALL. I am completely terrible at it. I have started another job but I am just not happy in it daydreaming about cakes haha. I live in Widnes, near Liverpool and am looking to do some kind of baking course but cannot find one anywhere. I can find cake decorating courses but not the actual baking. Can anyone help me? I have tried from countless books to no avail!

in the summer i did c&g level 1 and we were taught to bake victoria, maderia and genoise sponges, all very different in their techniques, maybe this would help you. the course did include decoration but we had to bake our own cakes first.

Just something a bit different, and I have been searching and googling with fascination! Cake Pops, Cake bites and cupcake pops..........

    http://www.bakerella.com/category/pops-bites/cake-pops/

Thought if you were selling at markets you could do these as a wee extra for the kids, or make them for halloween, I even googled one and they were wedding favours.....

    Sorry, just rather excited......... :)
