I keep thinking about striking out on my own and taking baby steps but... still just baking for my mates
I've got an imminent career break coming up (I work in a London-centric industry and am moving out of London, so... er... not really sure how to make money after February!)
I've put some photos up at www.facebook.com/jessbakescakes - what do you reckon? Could I do it? :O
Hiya,
The ones that you did for the wedding are great, I dont like some of the colours but thats my own personal taste. But the decorating is great.
Where did you get your cake boxes from?
So I think you can do it....Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
I have written to EHO today to see if they can give me reasons as to why I cant bake from home, when LOTs of other people are doing it. See what they come back with, im not going to hold my breath, but I feel I have to at least try again.
Im so happy (and rather jealous) you are all achieving your dreams, and wish you all the luck.Saving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -

Aww, thanks so much! I wasn't a fan of the colours either but the bride wanted bright colours, and in particular wanted the blue ones to match the bridesmaids dresses. And she's the customer
I usually get my cupcake boxes from www.cupcakeboxesuk.com but I buy fewer now I have a cupcake courier.
I really want cake now.0 -
Hi Stephy, that is fantastic news thanks! It won't be for a while yet that I ask but am planning ahead. Did you ask them by letter, I'm guessing it's best to have it all in writing? I wouldn't have anyone in the flat either. Did you have the environmental health round and have they allowed you to have your business regisetered at your address? Sorry for all the questions
I called up, we're really friendly with the lady who owns the estate agents and i often chat to her when we go in so she didnt see any problem as it's not really going to affect the property or any of the other residents. i just asked her to give it me in writing as she's so laid back she would never have thought of it if i hadn't asked. yeah when the guy came round he registered the business at my address x0 -

I really hope they change their minds Esmer, they shouldn't be able to have different rules for different councils. Did you address your letter to the officer who came round? If you don't get a response or if they still say no, take it higher. If that doesn't work, contact your local MP. I wouldn't let it drop but i'm a pain in the !!!!!, hehe! Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

i asked the guy who came to see me about any reason for other people being turned down and he said there should be no reason at all unless u had a house full of pets and a dirty kitchen. he literally peeped into my kitchen, dont think he even saw the sink, and didnt open the fridge or anythin. he didnt ask to see the bathroom either. i told him i'd heard of people gettin turned down for silly reasons and he said its crazy because its such a low risk company. so i cant understand why u were turned down at all... say to your council that you know of other people who have been given the go ahead without the guy even lookin at the kitchen!!!!0 -
