Hi guys, I have a few questions for you talented lot. First of all where do you get your supplies? I cant seem to find a place that stocks EVERYTHING| and postage seems extortionate. I have a local store but you pay over the odds in there, i hate hobbycraft.
Next I wonder what you guys use to make your fondant go hard to model or what you use to make a model. I am so rubbish at models but have to make one next week please someone tell me what to use.

I use cmc/tylose powder mixed with fondant to make models. Use about 1tsp to every 500g of fondant. Wrap it in cling film and leave it for a few hours before use. It will feel a bit stretchy and more pliable than fondantFeb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Lovely cake stardrops
Lovely peeps I just wanted to ask how you are all finding the cake decorating business, are the profit margins a small as I imagine them to be? Do you all do this as a side business or is it your full time job?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I don't find it very profitable really but then again I spend so long on my cakes I would have to charge people a fortune if I charged by the hour:rotfl:I think cake making is quite hard work for not much money. You really have to do it because you enjoy it as I don't think it will make you rich;) I do it more as a hobby and not as a job though.Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Has anyone used edible glitter for their cakes? I've seen it on a site called Totally Sugar Crafts and wondered what it's like.0
