It took me about 2-3 hours to decorate but I'd already made all the tiles etc a few days before to allow them to dry, they took another 2-3 hours approx:eek:;)

WOW that scrabble board is fantastic :T.
Doea anyone know where I can get a box for a giant cupcake? I have an order for one but cant find a box!

Well, I have gone from just wanting to sell at a few car boot sales etc to setting up a website, getting public liability insurance, having cards printed and ordering a mountain of boxes lol. Starting at a boot fair this Saturday, just to test the water, plus we have a load of stuff to get rid of. Need to finish website, I have sorted out the layout, just need to add the content in.

Owlet, what is the issue with boot sales as I wasn't sure if you could sell food at boot sales?? Does it depend on which one you do and best to ask organiser I guess???

OOOh don't know :o, I honestly didn't think about that. The EH inspector asked me where I planned on selling, I said boot fairs and she didn't say anything...... ok, more googling lol. As it turns out, I have had a change of plan and I am now going to do a craft fair fri night and (was planning lol) to take what was left to the boot fair. I'll go online and check it out.

Yeah was going to do a boot fair this sat with some 'Mum' cupcakes, I might just ring the organiser and see what they say!?
Let me know how it goes! I think I am a bit behind you with my set up but can see me going the same way as you, have you done any formal training or courses??

No, I haven't done any formal training. My Mum was a superb cook and her cakes were legendary. She taught me to cook from a very young age and I have self taught as I have gone along too. I have been baking for friends and family for about 25 years I suppose. I would like to do a sugarcraft course at some stage. I don't really want to get into the wedding cake scene though.

I am doing a cake school at a primary school Spring Fair on Friday afternoon. I was wondering if anyone knew what the usual price for cupcakes was these days? They are normal sized cakes (not mini or muffin), but are fancy ones with icing and decorations. It's many years since I've sold cakes on a stall, I usually do crafts but the insurance covers me for cakes as well. I have registered my kitchen with the council for food production, and have the food safety certificate.

I usually do Stalls with Novelty gifts for Christmas and bedding plants for the summer, I thought a cake stall would be a change and good to fill in the gaps.

Also, if anyone does a cake stall, how many cakes do you make?

    Thank you
