Thank you! Yes it was 1M, start in the middle with a little blob then work your way out to the edge. Have a look on youtube, there are several on there and they show it much better than I can explain lol.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

I for one would not buy any of those cakes at those prices, so I can't imagine many others will, even if you there were more customers. Fact is your profit margins will be incredibly slim if you want any chance of significantly raising sales volumes.
Funny how SO many people are doing well out of cupcakes and cakes isn't it?
Perhaps you need to do a bit of research before you starting dishing out advice. Think happy & you'll be happy

Absolutely agree with Hayley! A school fete might not be the best venue, as people expect things very cheap, but in other places cakes sell for higher prices. I've just sold at a fair at £1.50 a cake and not a single person mentioned the price, in fact I can count on one hand the people who came up to my stall and didn't end up buying.
The same people who say - oooh that's expensive - wouldn't think twice about spending £2.50 on a slice of cake in a cafe. I think it is about how you present the cakes, where you sell them - and how good they look (And taste!). These are a luxury treat, it is not the same as buying a doughnut from the bakery section in Tesco!
Plenty of people will spend upwards of £20 on a bunch of flowers - why not a box of cupcakes instead? Well actually no reason, because they do buy them! One more point - Interflora now do cupcakes - they are posted, very plain sponge (mass produced and with preservatives by any chance?) with flat royal icing and very basic decoration (none of our beautiful roses etc would post!) and they charge £25 for 9 cupcakes! I hand deliver a box of 12 for £18 - I'd call that a bargain!0 -
Hello can anyone recommend a good place to buy sugarcraft supplies in brighton? Thanks0

Can anyone answer this for me?
Why is it that when my cupcakes get one whiff of a plastic box, the cases peel away from the cakes.
I put some in the box, without the lid the other day and within half an hour the cases started coming away. How do I get round this and how do you guys store them? (I have got a big underbed storage box for transporting them).
I was wondering if I filled the cases a little more so that when they are cooked, the top comes just above the case instead of level with the top... they might stick then?.... They dont come away in the cardboard fancy boxes I sell them in or if they are left out - but I don't want them to dry out.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
