  • I'm missing this thread! Done about as much buying as I can do for christmas :(
Lots of HM bits I am working on but not near finishing so dont feel I have much to comment on here about which is a shame.
I'm almost half way through the mammoth blanket I'm doing little sisters for Xmas eve hamper.
DH has taken baby out for a few hours so I'm going to get up in the spare room and have a good look through everything I've got in there - forgotten most of it as have been shopping since May! :D
Will be wrapping Ds's birthday presents so they dont get mixed up with Christmas bits. Still waiting for the right Xmas wrap to come in stock at card factory. I bet they wont do the one I like this year now. Only got a couple of rolls left and I like all my wrapping paper matching so cant start any until I know What I'm using - oh dear - do I need to get out more?!
Cutie photos of DS in a christmas hat have been printed ready to go in christmas cards.
Feel like I'm just sat waiting for christmas to come to me hahah

I'm struggling with ideas for my daughter too and she'll be 3 in April. So far I have bought her:

Nok Tok Talking Plush Doll she doesnt like waybuloo
Vtech Alphabet Apple i was going to get her this but my dad has bought her a laptop and the princess phone we got her teaches numbers letterts etc too. i may get one for my nephew tho?!
Plain Pink PJ's i put pjs in the xmas eve hamper
Pink Cutlery Set was this the ha;lfcost ones? i got some from there but already given her them.
Playskool Potato Head Spud Buds hmmm... might be an idea
    Waybuloo: Lau Lau Figure Pack
Miss Fiori Tiara & Wand Set another idea ive not thought of - she is very girly so may get her something like this
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Finger Puppet Book lol she sulks cos finger puppets always fall off her! lol
LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Microphone Pink i got her the chad vally microphone - very basic but we bought my son one last year for £20 and it wasnt working within an hour cos he had it too close to his mouth and it got wet!!!!

Hopefully we can share some ideas! :)

some good ideas there, thank you.

ive just been looking on elc website and thinking i may also get her the nurses costume and a medical set (wont get the medical set from there as £16 seems a little excessive!!!)

most of the things she wants are really unsuitable like that barbie with the hairdryer that blows glitter (dont think so!) and all the foody gifts - choc coin maker etc which she is way too young for. she wants everything on the adverts!

Hi all, this isnt about presents as such but still about xmas and saving money! Ive been asked to decorate the table at our Christmas dinner with my boyfriends parents and his family (12-15 people in all) I was just looking for money saving ideas for things to put on there??

All ive thought of so far is xmas table cloths (throw away type), crackers and ive got xmas bits to spread about but thats all I can think of really!

I know there must be more than that? Theyre all contributing food but as I cant cook this was the safest bet lol x

im really wanting to decorate my table this year - theres only four of us but its my first xmas with a table in 3 years lol!
im planning on buying a tablecover a fabric one with some sort of sequins or beads or something!
some big platter plates for under the dinner plates. they had some red and gold ones (but could spraypaint if you wanted another colour) in morrisons last year they were only plastic and £1 for 2
in morrisons again they have a cardboard cupcake holder which is a christmas tree and has 3 or 4 layers. its £5 but can be used over and over. then will obviously buy some cupcakes or sweets of some kind to go on. this will be my centrepiece.
im going to get some linen napkins to match the tablecloth and get some fancy beaded napkin holders.
then i plan to sprinkle the table with some foil confetti
    some posh crackers too.

if you have a search around on google, blogs etc you can find instructions for making name places there is some really nice ones out there.

have you thought about a little gift on everyones place setting? it could be something simple such as a luxury chocolate or a minuture spirits bottle or mini bottle of bubbles for any kids. or you could get something individual for everyone.

hope ive given you a few ideas

  • Oooh I'm excited about our Christmas table! :)
Its my first time doing a Christmas table and its only going to be small. 3 of us and maybe Monster in law.... Dunno whats going on there yet
I am going for mostly silver with some blue, I have got a silver table runner, light up table garlands, napkin rings (got all mine from Avon) I am doing my own crackers - in silver of course, havent got these yet but watching some on Ebay - no idea what I'm putting in them but hey ho.
On the look out for the silver platter plates as mentioned above and silver and blue confetti!

    LOVE IT!!!

  • hi everyone,

was wondering if i could join you lovely people and join in with the christmas spirit. i cant seem to find much christmas spirit around here at the moment and iam begining to feel like an alien!!!!!!

mentioned to my family the 'C' word and they all nearly choked on their coffee with disgust, they told me not to mention it again til December. !

So im a bit fed up and down this morning- i love christmas, always have, the build up is the best bit for me. i've got all this christmassy energy inside waiting to burst free....................will you let me in??????? desparate to talk about it and get cracking with the gifts etc.

Already ordered my latest christmas dvds , awaiting their arrival, most of the cards bought, and just working on my lists for budget/pressies/christmas lunch & table etc. Would like most of it done by the begining od December so i can enjoy all the build up and relax.

can anyone give me ideas too please- i have 3 nephews 3, 7 and 8. , what are they interested in at that age? havent got a clue what to get them and my sis refused to speak christmas at all telling me it was way too early...so they will get what i decide now.......but i need a little help..........(my kids are 17 and 20 so its years since i bought for that age).

Thanks for listening to my morning moaning......cuppa coming up and more list work before i head into town.

(when is it considered decent to put the music on.?......................................feeling like it now.think i may like it here)

    love fmf
