  • I am not as organised as I'd like to be. I have been buying bits of presents here and there and working out what I'm getting or need to put together. Run out of money this month but come November, I'll put together the towel cakes for my grandparents. I would like to have everything bought that I need for Christmas by mid-November. Then I've got a month to make things and wrap everything and don't need to worry about fighting the Christmas shoppers. I'll be doing enough of that in work *grin*

I was craving Candy Canes last night. So much that I drove up to Tesco but they didn't have any in *sad* I'm starting to feel Christmassy now it's halfway through October! I love it.
  • Hi Everyone,

Well Im getting there slowly but surely.

Kids have all got money boxes, brother, sister and bil have got cinema vouchers/dvd and a sweet box, s-dad has his model that is usually v.expensive but managed to get it half price in the sale yay.

Have done my mum a garden hamper that has in it:
    • Garden Wind Up Radio
    • Welly Boots Key Ring
    • Hand Cream
    • Grow Your Own Herbs In A Tin x 2 (for the kitchen windowsill)
    • A Thermos Flask (cos she gardens even in winter lol)
    • Reusable Garden Themed Bag
    • Five Year Garden Planner
To keep with the eco theme and because Ive run out of budget Im going to use a cardboard box to hamper it up, just need some ideas on how to make it look pretty? Will be getting some cellophane off ebay to wrap it up as have a few other things that need wrapping too. Just wondering whether to cover the box and what with, also what to bump it up with, green tissue paper maybe?

And also, Im going to make a couple of candy bouquets, have got two empty tubs that are the perfect size just need covering, to those of you that have made them......Im planning on using kebab sticks to stick the sweets to, question is, what do you stick the kebab sticks in??

    Thanks

You could decorate with leaves if there are any still on trees near Xmas! Not sure if you could pick them now and chill them to keep them preserved? Just thinking out loud! I love your idea for a garden hamper!
