Grrrrr!
I thought I'd get a few stocking fillers from halfcost after seeing a few little things that looked good for kids etc. Put them in my basket and went to checkout. It said transaction unsuccessful. I know there are funds so assumed I'd put my details in wrong, started from scratch and took some things out of my basket and went through checkout again. Unsuccessful again. Stupidly I tried a 3rd time and got the same message so gave up. Later on I googled "halfcost unsuccessful transction" and found an old post on a site where the poster had had the same issue as me yet still been charged and never received the goods, so I phoned my bank to check and 2 of the 3 payments have gone through....
They said at the bank if the money isnt claimed by halfcost in 10 days it stays in my account, if they claim it the bank will open a fraud case so I wont lose my money buy how blimming annoying!
So I take back the posts I made about cheap items - looks like you wont get them anyway.
On a brighter note I've started on my HM preserves this morning0 -
That's weird, chasingsunshine, I've never had any problem with the Halfcost orders. Send them an email and ask them to check the status of your order.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I have just done so, thanks. Its a shame as I really wanted to get some bits from there and now its put me off a bit. I also tried getting something from them a few months back and also got transaction unsuccessful. Very odd as I have plenty of cash in my account (for change heehee)
There are no orders showing in my order history so I dont think I'll end up getting them. Will let you know what they say.0 -
Maybe your browser doesn't play well with their website? I can't order from them in Firefox?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

That sucks CS! Hope you get it all sorted. I was going to buy a friends birthday present from halfcost but I'll try in IE and keep an eye on my bank account whilst I do it!0

ohhh what a fab idea. shame i hate my aldi, the aisles are too small and you struggle to leave the store without buying something as you have to walk between the open checkouts which is impossible if omeone is standing in them, especially with a buggy!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi all,
I went to my Tesco homestore (Bracknell) this morning and picked up loads of stocking fillers for pennies- Disney Fairy furry pens reduced to 40p (from £2), fairy scribble sets 37p (£1.70), little pet shop bouncy balls 37p (£2.50), acrylic crayons 10p.
They've got all of their 40p party bag bits reduced to 10p- sharpeners, rubbers, pens.
HTH someone.
They've also got their toy story pen sets really cheap & the Buzz Lightyear lunchbox for £2 (from £8)"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye."...Miss piggy0 -

Thanks for this :j. I've never been to this store but as it's not far I might give it a go tomorrow. It sounds as those things will be fabulous for Christmas shoe boxes and my daughter's party bags. Did they have much left?
Could you tell me whereabouts I will find these reduced things in the shop? As I have to drag my children to the shops to get shoes tomorrow I don't think they will want to spend too long as I try to find my way around a different Tesco store!!
Thanks very much0
