Well today I have bought some mens hugo boss aftershave from Boots - £12 reduced from £25, 60ml! Thought this was a bargain, its a fairly new one too, not one of those old fashioned ones :P
  • I gave in and made an Excel chart. I keep changing my mind over what I'm getting people or where I'm getting it from (thus changing the price) and having to keep delete and retype bits in a Rough Draft document got annoying. I do like the autosum feature on Excel!

Im really stuck for what to buy my sisters boyfriend :( hes 29 likes gardening and im not sure what else lol I was thinking maybe doing him a basket and putting in some chilli seeds? or some other unusual seeds (coz they love trying new and weird recipes too) but other than this and some chocolate im stuck...any ideas from you clever people? xxx

As a gardener, what I'd love is some unusual seeds, and other things that get used up a lot so - gloves, string, labels (especially the plastic ones to write on, but personalised ones to match the seeds, just done on the computer, could be good too), - you can easily bulk it out with e few larger items if you wanted to like a kneeler (or even the kneeler pads from Lidl), some new pots or maybe even a window box to hold it all (thinking as I type), tools that he may not have already etc. Lots of gardening stuff gets used up during the year, and loads of people buy me books when I'd really prefer seeds, gloves and labels. And a few seed trays.

    :p
  • Love the gardening hamper idea, I think I may well be makng one this year too and not really knowing much about it myself it's great to hear what a keen gardener would love to have :)

I'm getting there with the getting organised, have found a few bargains recently for hampers for mummy friends, have already bought main presents for the women in my family, I am just really stuck with what to buy grandad who is in his early 70's and we don't really see him often and I don't have a clue what he likes. I know he buys his meals from M&S so I thought maybe a gift voucher as part of the present to save him money, I also bought a brag book and a a tree decoration which we will put pics of our family but not sure what else to do? Both my brothers are difficult to buy for too will have to look on here for some good ideas.

On the upside, I finally ordered my dress today for Christmas, should be ready in November so I'm really pleased about that, one thing off the list of things to do. Best start checking my Excel list to see where I am at with what I need to buy!!

Well done everyone on being so organised, you are all an inspiration and motivate me to keep on going :)

There's a free delivery code for Debenhams that expires tonight plus 5% Quidco (you can see the code on the Quidco website) and their 70% off sale has some lovely jewellery bits.

I may or may not have a massive headstart on next Christmas :o
Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

  • I just spotted on another thread a mention that the new Hairy Bikers book will have a bit about making your own crackers - which is a useful reminder to ME to start saving my loo roll middles!!!

  • I am soooo impressed with how organised I am this year - all thanks to you lovely people motivating me with tips, ideas and inspiration!

Got some preserves to do this weekend along with some more flannel reindeers, and hopefully my little bags will be here so I can pack up my memo magnets :D

I've now got more green (bought & received) on my spreadsheet than red (ideas but not yet got), I reckon I'm now 70% of the way there and considering probably of the 30% left to get 20% is HM edible gifts I'm ALMOST THERE!!!! :) Never before been so organised! Just the biggies left to get for DH & mum!
