Could anyone please tell me what the pot of gold is because although I have read this thread I can not find what the pot of gold actually is?

A pot of gold is a pot/ jar/ small craft bucket etc, filled with sweets in gold wrapping. You can put a poem on (which can be found here somewhere- if you cant find it PM me and I'll send you some)
This year I'm doing a big pot of gold for my brother as I have no idea what to get him. I bought a storage jar from Asda and will be filling it with toffees in gold wrapping, forrero rocher, £20 in £1 & £2 coins, a £20 note and a scratch card. (sounds like a lot I know but I never know what to buy him so every year while my other siblings get decent presents he gets toiletries so I kinda owe him :)

  • though we are ttc first child so hopefully we get that for xmas! a postive that is, that would make our dreams come true

we got our bfp on 21st december last year and i now have a 2 week old baby girl!1!! good luck with ttc
  • have got my spreadsheet up at the minute deciding what items to get for the last few I havent thought of. These are the ideas I have so far, if anyone has any other suggestions for items to go on Id appreciate it :D

Movie Hamper for my bros gf : Dvd, popcorn, kettle crisps (her fav), pick a mix, chocolate bar, cans of pop
    * I may also do this hamper for my OH or his brother as they both love watching dvds together!*

Naked Lady Hamper for my 23 year old Bro (before you think Im crazy hes beyond difficult to buy for and he will get other stuff this is just a jokey one to fill up his gifts :D) : naked lady ice cube maker (got), naked lady soaps (found seller) and other ideas for this which I havent sourced yet are: mug where clothes dissappear when you a hot drink in, naked lady pen where clothes dissappear, some shaped chocolates or sweets (these usually surface near to christmas!)

Gardening Hamper for my Dad : Using advice off the gardening hamper thread :D.

Afternoon tea Hamper for best friends mum : mug and saucer, tea, jam, biscuits, scone
*may also do this hamper for my great aunt too*

Want to do a hamper for my mum also but at the minute I cant think what to do for her. She moved out 18 months ago so I dont know her as well anymore and shes very picky about what she likes. I may do a makeup hamper for her, although I am concerned that the cost of this could leap up as most make up is branded so I may have to keep my eye out for glitches!

have been lurking round for a couple of weeks, now hope i can join in you have given me inspiration to get everything done early - so in my case i can enjoy it - as im the only one that goes out for the xmas shopping/pressies. I am trying to keep prezzies to a budget this year, but it is one time of the year i really love.

so.. i have ordered some bits from halfcost waiting for them to arrive first time ive used them. have reserved some things from argos going to pick them up tomorro then that will be a few more pressies done. the main thing i have done today is made the xmas cake!!! yay i love opening it now and again topping it up with the rum/brandy! i have also made 2 smaller gluten free xmas cakes for my bfs mum - hope she likes.

I would really like to make a sock monkey but im not sure.. i like the look of others but things for me nver work out that right.

looking forward to seeing/hearing everyone elses plans/gifts/ideas

This is the first year I've done sock monkey's. The first one I did quite roughly so I got an idea of how it would look and get used to stitching. So it looks a bit flat and wonky. Then the second one, I took much more time over it and it turned out very well! I'm quite proud of it. Am just waiting on some fabric samples to arrive to make some accessories for it. You should give it a try :)
