Ooh good idea bronnie, have some palmolive stuff that would do the job thanksfor the tip. Im using up a molton brown handwash (gorgeous gift) at the mo so will decant into that, cause im a sucker for pretty packaging.:o

    Nab

OH bought me this http://www.moltonbrown.co.uk/home-luxuries/bathroom-accessories/the-pure-crystal-arc.html last year but in silver. It came with handwash and lotion I have filled the handwah up 3 times with a £1 bottle from Boots- I still feel the same warm fuzzy feeling as I did when I was using the MB stuff because it's so pretty x

Right- I've decided that I have got myself in the mindset that if I try and use all my stuff up as quickly and ridiculously as possible I can buy more... which isn't really very MSE of me at all. So I after looking at the horrendous list of my stash I posted the other day I have decided to set myself a 'product budget'
I am setting myself £120 for the year including DD's bath and body stuff which is obviously £10 a month so more than enough for essentials if I shop carefully. I can't actually believe I've said this especially in my wedding year but I have so many goodies I really shouldn't need much other than my everyday stuff... am I mad??? Probably but I probably spend £40 a month only spending £10 on toiletries would save me £360 this year.

    kk

I think this is very true- I'm going to try and not use it all up straight away so that I can go out and buy more but use what I normally would.

Also by putting money in a pot each time I use something up- it will give me realistic knowledge of how much I spend on toilettries and makeup!

:D After the amount of time I spent on the flipping website (think I was an hour cos it kept crashing!!) I think I deserve them... I didnt have time to get down to Poole to go to Boots,so I sat online.... luckily my friend couldnt see any when he went to the Bristol Boots,or there would have been 4.... I would think most will end up becoming gifts, though the hatbox is quite useful,so I may well split them, keep what I use a lot,and the boxes, and give the rest away (or ebay it so I can buy some more!!)
I originally bought one for me, one for a gift, and then I was given another for Christmas - plus a travel kit S&G.

Reading through the thread, I think (sorry, girls!!), that this is very true. Hate to say it , but probably the thread title should be, "No buying toiletries until I've used up my stock and see how long can I make them last!" ........and to remind myself, I've added this to my sig!

I agree. I am not being wasteful either, just using things up but still at the rate at which I was e.g. the same size blob of shampoo/no of washes. I'm just not buying any more in the meantime - AND using up the things I should have been using all along but was too lazy/was saving them for a special occasion! :D
Oh no i caved yesterday. I resisted going to town today so instead ordered from the Body Shop. I have almost run of cotton pads but two bottles of cucumber water and two bottles of body puree made it into my basket.

But i did finish a bottle of J'Adore perfume.

I have also listed the following items on ebay
    2 Molton Brown shower gels
    Molton Brown Hand Cream
a set of 10 mini Nails inc varnishes
2 full size nails inc varnishes
    Some sanctuary items
a load of Body Shop body butters

So hopefully this will reduce some of my stash and the money will go towards some Liz Earle items i'm going to need in a month or two.

Well done on the listing!!! :T
Body Shop cotton pads are super expensive though, aren't they??

I used to be really wasteful using shampoo and conditioner in the shower and bubble bath. I used to use way too much, there would always be lots of it sploshed around the walls and floor of the shower! I'm trying to use the right amount now . Products are lasting much longer now!

Wash my hair every night, so it just needs one lather and I dispense the shampoo and conditioner a bit more carefully. Some containers have openings that the stuff comes out too quickly/easily and positively encourages you to use too much!

    Clever manufacturers, aren't they?

Hello all, I'm having a bit of a wobble today. For some reason I'm feeling a desperate urge to buy some Body Shop Cherry lipbalm (another of my obsessions, I already have about 40 various lipbalms....) and a hand cream I just read about in an old magazine.

I've got to go into town in half an hour and I'm not sure I will be able to stop myself. :undecided
