I am quite extravagant with cotton buds I admit - I use them to scoop moisturiser etc out of tubs as they are more hygienic and the product lasts longer than if I were using my fingers (eurgh). I prefer tubes as they are cleaner but a lot of products only come in tubs.

God Ive never heard of scooping cream out with pads- I cant believe Ive never known of anyone do this- have I lived a sheltered life tara?

Why not use hands? I do have clean hands most of the time I do a dirty job but I have a bit OCD about hand washing! I wash my hands a lot more frequently THAN I use moisturiser as my stores wil tell you lol . If you apply it with hands () ie squeezing it out of the tube) then whats the difference from scooping?

Im sure im missing something- fill me in!

    Well done :)

Its a todays special value, they have a special offer for that day only. I tend to buy them as they are much better value for money and come in packs so you can either sell the things you won't use or give them away as gifts.

On QVC its a Today's Special Value. In the beauty parts its a collection of products for a special low price for 24 hours or until it sells out.

Liz Earle will be difficult to not buy, but i do have 70 odd products to use first :rotfl:

I have just spent the last 3 hours reading through this thread, I'm in bed sick at the moment and have almost coughed up a lung and nearly wet myself on more than one occasion. thanks for cheering me up.

I started to do this last year with both unused toiletries and some of my better what were you thinking when you bought that fashion purchases.

I got rid of lots on ebay and also bought lots more via ebay, but i did tend to only buy what i needed rather than another pretty package and only spend the money in my paypal account so really i was just recycling.

However i have to fess up, i did spend £54 on the demon QVC yesterday couldn't resist the Gatineau.

I am still using up Molton Brown hand lotion that i bought 3 years ago and some Victoria secrets stuff i bought in Florida last November thats 2008.

But i am determined after reading this thread only to buy as i need this year. Think i will buy a couple of saving stamps at the supermarket each week as a way of having something to show for my virtuous new habit.

I recon i have a years worth of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturiser, cleanser, serums, neck gel, etc so no real hardship.

I also have some decent hotel toiletries Aveda bath and face bars x 6 each, 4 each x shampure conditioner & rosemary mint shampoo not a bad haul for a 4 night stay Sara Sea Florida. I have also had Molton Brown from a Fred Olsen cruise & a Le Meridien hotels.

Im starting to think these "bargains" are not really "grabbits".

I know about the l'occitane QVC as Ive nearly bought them myself a few times. But they do seem to come round fairly frequently ( im not a QVC viewer, just happened to flick and seen them a few times. But then when I saw the slot the 3rd time I was like, I can just get them next time its on ( that next time is not coming until I have used up some hand creams- I have a champneys one on the go in the bathroom, a neutrogena in the van and a molton brown one next. The champnys one has been going months, its a hand & body lotion and a good one for the loo as OH can use it without it smelling too floral.
