Whoops - my eBay link was supposed to be for FF, not Lynz. Sorry about that - I guess she's gone for the night! :)

I clicked but it went for more than I can afford at the moment. I'm just going to have to save my Boots points I think!

Lots of chat on here! I love clinique brushes (if you have spare Boots points they are fab to buy). I have the bronzer one and a powder one. ELF ones sound interesting though.

Used up = sachet of eye serum from nivea
Using up = bottle of body shop cocoa butter lotion (strong smell!)

Fair point about over-using or being over-generous with product. I've neglected my skin for so long that it's absorbing everything being thrown at it.

Hi all, been reading through & catching up. I haven't actually used anything up yet, BUT as someone(?Bronnie)said, I'm trying to make my stuff last as long as possible.

A couple of things I have found interesting, using almond oil, instead of moisturiser, I might try that (after I use up face cream), since I have very dry skin. I also found the chit chat about makeup brushes interesting, I always use a cotton bud to put eye shadow on, are brushes better? If so, why??

    Katiex

I haven't used cotton buds for eyeshadow but brushes are very good, better than the little foam applicators you sometimes get with them. I can't explain why! I imagine that the cotton buds would (a) absorb quite a lot of eyeshadow and (b) drag the skin on your eyelid so they might not be good.

Evening all, I do enjoy reading this thread. Sorry to hear your Dandelion powder was a fake, flying_fresian - have a look out for that Boots highlighting powder I suggested a few days ago. I'm sure it didn't cost much more than £10. :)

Personally, I think there are some staple things you can buy (cheaply of course) to make using old and cheap products feel more special. Like:
    Moisture Gloves
    Moisture Socks
Applicator Mitts for tan and normal moisturising
    A towelling headband (spa style)
Some spa style slippers (mine were free from the last hotel we stayed in)
Nice cotton pads (my favs are from B&M 99p- soft and HUGE)
A good set of make up brushes
    ... a nice fluffy towel x

Dunelm Mill (place that sells bedding and housewares) do brilliant towel mitts for about £1 or £2. Great for removing face masks and stuff. Beats the Elemis ones hands-down (no pun!) on price. :T

Thanks hun will definitely try it and report back. Desicided that I won't spend more than £1.50 on a shampoo unless is a huge bottle (this is quite shocking for me as most of last year there was upto 3 bottles of Bumble and Bumble in my shower)! However I did discover the £1 Charles Worthington and I am looking forward to finding other good cheap brands!

Just had a look at my make up box. Found 2 tinted moisturisers I forgot I had- will use these rather than foundation on lazy days to conserve my foundation as it is quite expensive. Will ask OH for some for Valentines Day!

My favourite mascara is L'Oreal Telescopic- nothing compares for me but realised this was more for the wand than the actual mascara. Found a couple of unused mascaras so will dip the Telescopic wand into these rather than going out and buying another as mines ran out.

Got a full Hoola and a couple fo other bronzers I don't like as much but are percetly fine when I have my fake tan on so will use these up when I'm tanned.

Got LOADS of eyeshadows, eyeliner and lipglosses. I have 4 bottles of at least half full primers. Might need some more highlighter. I usually use benefit and really love it- might have to ask for this for Valentines day too :o Could do with a new Touche Eclat soon but going to try the £1.50 Aldi one 1st- I will give a completely honest review of this once I've tried it as I've being using Touche Eclat since it came out.

    Hi KK,

I can totally vouch for the Aldi Cashmere one(its in a black pen-shape). I used Touche Eclat for years but the Aldi one is better and at a fraction of
the price. Also the Ysl one definetly develops a strange smell before you get a chance to use it all up. I don't know if anyone else has had that problem with it?

still not finishe any bottles/packets yet....What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, probably. I have finished three this last week or so, but they were all nearing the end, so I would suggest that it's the same for most people unless they were using minis or samples of some description. Don't loose heart, loose bottles! ;)

Not bought anything again today (mind you stuck in with flu) I am going to have to buy conditioner soon so I thought but went to my mothers and told her about this so we went threw her toileteries and guess what i found? My mum dyes her hair 2-3 weeks (no natural colour left IYKWIM?) and she never uses those tubes of conditioners that come with the colours I found 24!!!!!!!!!!! of them that should take me through til the summer. I will need to buy hair curl cream soon but am hoping to wait til the end of the month so am having a few product free days

BTW anyone with curly hair check out boots own basics range curling cream only £1.39 and from someone who has spent thousands on products found herself with£3 and a declined visa crad last year was desperate so thought I'd give it a go - BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!

Hi. I bought this once and LOVED it! Since then, I've never been able to find it again. Is it still out there? Please tell! I would then go and hoard it as if preparing for the apocalypse!
