Im in but I have no idea what Im going to spend really so I guess we could join you on 120 a year. My stocks to be honest are rather rubbish thoiugh and although moisturisers will last me probably till Xmas, shower gel will only be a few weeks.... Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Yey Lynz... you've got to keep me on the straight hun!!! Think it'll be less of House of Fraser and more of Poundland!
OH says I've way underestimated my usual spend of £40- he says it's more like £80- so off to check my bank statements.

Hi all. Just a quick post as the kids are a bit whingy at the mo. I will be going to the 75% if the weather is good, but not to buy toiletries as such. My hubby wants a shaving mirror and i saw some no7 mens ones so might get one of those, plus i like the star trek cuff links and playing cards too. Also want some clothes for the kids and i do still have a gift card to use, so i think as long as im strong and just stick to getting the stuff we actually need i will be ok. Tara i do understand that feeling of liberation as my stash list is terrible:eek:(huge) and so knowing that i dont need it and will save money is quite a motivator. I am down to two liquid soaps and in our house (2 adults , 3 kids) we do get through it so will get some if on offer etc.

xxYou laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)0 -
Right- I've decided that I have got myself in the mindset that if I try and use all my stuff up as quickly and ridiculously as possible I can buy more... which isn't really very MSE of me at all. So I after looking at the horrendous list of my stash I posted the other day I have decided to set myself a 'product budget'............Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk
Reading through the thread, I think (sorry, girls!!), that this is very true. Hate to say it , but probably the thread title should be, "No buying toiletries until I've used up my stock and see how long can I make them last!" ........and to remind myself, I've added this to my sig!
I am setting myself £120 for the year including DD's bath and body stuff which is obviously £10 a month so more than enough for essentials if I shop carefully. I can't actually believe I've said this especially in my wedding year but I have so many goodies I really shouldn't need much other than my everyday stuff... am I mad??? Probably but I probably spend £40 a month only spending £10 on toiletries would save me £360 this year.
Another good plan I think, kk :T. Anything that makes purchases more considered and less random and impulse has got to be worthwhile!0 -

Have you got any shower gel, bubble bath you're not so keen on to decant into the old containers, otherwise Boots own brand bubble baths (i like the creme ones) do the job of handwash just as well!0 -
Right I need new shapoo- just going to check OH cupboard to make sure he's not hiding any first. Will have to go to Morisons because snow is too bad for the car- has anyone tried their own brand? x0

Just debating whether or not to stay away from Boots 75% sale on wed... Anyone else going? :A
Like other posters I need to look at how much I spend on toiletries and have saved loads by not buying more.:jI went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -
Think I'm going to the 75% sale but for gifts not for me. I don't actually spend much on toiletries, but have the problem that I hoard them. If I want a new shampoo when this one is finished, I think it is fine to go for a brand if I like it. As long as I use the stuff and don't just collect it. This thread is also keeping me on track for using one thing at a time. I hate, hate, hate having more than one shower gel on the go, but then I get bored and want a new one to open!

Anyone fancy joining me?
Yes. A while back I bought some Lidl sensitive skin body lotion. It's about £1.49 and it's ok. I'll probably use Sweet Almond Oil and make my own massage oil.I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -
Oh no i caved yesterday. I resisted going to town today so instead ordered from the Body Shop. I have almost run of cotton pads but two bottles of cucumber water and two bottles of body puree made it into my basket.
But i did finish a bottle of J'Adore perfume.
I have also listed the following items on ebay
2 Molton Brown shower gels
Molton Brown Hand Cream
a set of 10 mini Nails inc varnishes
2 full size nails inc varnishes
Some sanctuary items
a load of Body Shop body butters
So hopefully this will reduce some of my stash and the money will go towards some Liz Earle items i'm going to need in a month or two.
