I'm quite a hoarder and although i already have plenty of the coconut and satsuma toiletries from Body Shop, i feel i need more as its such a bargain

having just looked in my cupboard under the sink I better sign up for a 'no household products until.......' challange. There must be 3 bottles of bleech, 4 washing-up-liquids, 3 different oven cleaners, 4 packs of bin bags (in varying strengths)..........and if I remember rightly I sorted it out 3 month ago and put some excess stuff in the celler - better go look for it.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0

i don't 'do' make up so my stash will naturally be smaller than many of you girls
still not doing a list though, don't think i could face it! we're in the middle of a house move so i have things here there and everywhere. looking forward to having my own bathroom in the new place when the true extent of my problem will no doubt become crystal clear!
this thread has helped refocus my energies. although i've been doing this challenge for a while, i still have a lot of half used things hanging around that i don't dislike but dont love enough to use religiously IYSWIM. i want to try and get rid of these so that i'm not carting a load of largely empty lotions and potions to my new bathroom.
i'm going to start tonight with a mini pedicure. my claws need a trim and i have a peppermint foot lotion that's been in my possession since god knows when :eek:know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Just caught up on everyones posts for today... I am still not up to doing "my list of shame" yet, as there are so many items to list, and it's all over my house, so a huge well done to all those that have. :T
Today :- I was almost out of "Frizzease" which is actually a bit of an essential because I have frizzy mophead without it. This isn't something I have a stockpile of and I really needed to buy it.
Rather than go to Boots as normal, I got it by running (literally) down past the haircare aisle, (without looking at anything else I might think I NEED' but don't) in Tesco and just throwing one in with our food shopping.
Hubby paid for this as well so sort of cheating, but sort of money saving as I know I would have spent lots more in Boots.
Another big thing for me is that I also went to the Trafford Centre earlier and walked past Lush!
It's extremely rare that I have gone to the Trafford Centre and not called in, and I usually end coming out with at least 3 bath bombs.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Count me in!
I've got SOOOOOOOOO many toiletries at home that i've bought on special offer! I think this challenge must be hardest for me because I work at Boots!!!! So I see all the special offers AND i get discount and points...ah!!!
I have at home:
- Approx 10 bottles Palmolive Shower gel (Bought on special offer at 60p each!)
- 2 x Nivea showergels
- 2 x Dove Shampoo Bottles (bought for 87p each!)
- 2 x Dove Conditioner
- 1 x Boots own brand shampoo
- 1 x fructis shampoo bottle
- 1 x Boots own brand conditioner
- 1 x Soap and Glory Hat box with all the bits (of course bought for 20quid)
- 1 x Neutragena face wash
- 2 x boxes of toothpaste -BOGOF
- 1 x body shop set got for christmas inc soap, showergel, and body scrub
- 3 x hair heat protection sprays from boots bought on the 2 quid off deal
- 2 x hairspray
- 1 x 500ml bottle of S&G Showergel in addition to the box
- 2 x luxury soap bars
- 2 x new razors and one set of blades
- 2 x cans of shaving gel
- 2 x little bottles of No7 bath stuff
As for make up - Have a lot, do NOT need anymore!!!!!!
SO- NO MORE TOILETRIES!!!!!!!!!
Please keep me motivated guys!!!! I kept stocking up to 'save money' when things were on special offer but i really don't need them for at least what - well at least a year on the showergel.....and several months on the other stuff. What a fantastic idea for a thread and challenge.

Good lord if I stick to this I'll be a millionaire (almost). I'm well up for a crack at it!
Before Christmas I tried to use all my goodies up but just had so much and I got LOADS for Christmas. I've started using Eve Lom and really love it so will allow myself to stock up on this as and when I need it but I shouldn't need to buy another pot of body moisturiser all year!
I will only buy...
Razors
Nail Polish Remover
Fake Tan
Eve Lom
Facial Moisturiser (but have enough until June)
Shampoo and Conditioner
Shower Gel
Foundation
Mascara
I get married in July so will be having a few salon treats to get myself ready for the big day.
I can sooooooo do this x0 -

Shocking- and all the stuff I have is really good quality so I should be enjoying using it- not rushing out to buy more and more... will try harder this year!0 -
Hi all,
I'm definitely up for this. I've been getting rid and using up bit and pieces for a while but not really focused on the not buying duplicates of stuff I already have. A couple of months ago I counted 11 foundations in my make up box. 11, how daft. Sister had a couple of them and I've used up some too. Avon, not calling! I've developed an avon habit over the last few months and that will have to stop too. Success is...there wont be 10 green bottles sitting on the wall will be enough! And sits nicely with the Great Declutter 2010 thread.
Tips for using up stuff:
- if you have odds and ends of shampoo, which you dont like, use them to clean the bath
- hair removal cream which is a bit old is useful for removing hair in the plughole, just squeeze some to cover the plughole, run some hot water and away you go.
- use cream too sensitive for your face on your neck, the nape of your neck, across tops of your shoulders, your elbows. And your cuticles (really helps nails grow).
- have a DIY spa at home - and gather as many products you think you can use (face scrub, cleanser, mask, hair treatment etc etc, pedicure stuff) and go for it.
Look forward to hearing everyones progress. I walked out of Debenhams today with nil, that queues put me off was coincidence before finding this thread!
