Oh my god! Just gone in to our two main bathrooms and sister, mum and dad are worse than me!! Mountains of stuff. I just had to get out lol0

I have been reading this thread and simply had to join, a first for me as a forum member newbie anywhere. I have been using up my stock of toiletries for the last year and a half, and although it was no way near as extensive as some listed here, I still have a few items left over... My stockpile of toothpaste and deodorant has been seriously dented and I am down to my last pot of moisturiser. I have ran out of hand cream at home but am waiting to get backto work on Monday as I know that i have two full tubes in my drawer there...Not buying any toiletries until stock is used up!Never paying full price for clothes thanks to charity shops!:rolleyes:Saving up for children's university fees and costs!Maxing up repayments and repaying up mortgage: 3 years to go!:DPlanning what to sow in the vegetable plot to cover veg bill this year0

Butteryfly I'm so jealous you must have loads of toilettries in your house plus its all the good named products
Wel done Caroline on using up a product. I too used up something today- it was only a travel size shower gel which was already open though- lol.
Currently trying to use up things which are already open. I wouldn't say I had a huge stash to use up but when I looked through items already open I found I had 4 body mosturisers, a body butter and body oil
I think that for every item I use up I will put some money into a pot in the same way others have suggested. At the end of this challenge I will then count up how much I have saved. Lots of the products I have were bought in the sales or given as presents so its difficult to work out the cost but I will probably put in a £1 for small items and then similar cost to RRP for the rest.
Vikki- I don't see anything wrong with giving things as presents but if it has been opened/ small amount used then I would probably say no. You might be able to get away with it for your family particularly if you put it in a hamper with unused products- always the moneysaver
Keep going everyone

Wow, love everyone's lists!!! I won't list, it would take all day
, I have so many small sized soaps that I'm going to try and make some homemade laundry cleaner to save pennies.
Hope I'm not the only one who gets a strange thrill out of using up stuff - obviously bottles go straight in recycling . Today I used up a perfume spray and a mini bottle of body moisturiser

My signature is already done as i wanted to stop buying smellies anyway, and now ive found this challenge it must be fate
To give you an idea of what a bath and shower freak i am, i thought i would write down the things i have in an attempt to truely realise that i dont need anymore! Some things date back to about 3 years ago.
All my smellies are from Molton Brown, Body Shop, Philosophy, L'occatine, Sanctuary etc etc. (i used to shop at QVC)
Ok here it goes- 19 tubes/tubs of body scrub (50ml to 400ml)
- 25 bottles of shower bath/shower gel (200ml)
- 16 bottles of bath/shower gel (50ml to 100ml)
- 7 tubs of body butter (50ml to 200ml)
Everything is brand new, not opened and in addition to everything i am using and getting through at the moment!
I also have spray deo, body lotion, nail varnish remover, shampoo and conditioner, spot treatments, wipes and a rather large stash of cotton pads and ear buds.
Someone slap me, im out of control!!:eek:
If you have so many unopened things you could ebay some of your stash which would help in your £4 a day challenge.

I always seem to get bubble bath in my gift sets at Christmas, so what I do is decant it into empty, rinsed out liquid soap dispensers. I put these in the utility room, downstairs toilet, bathroom and ensuite. Everyone always comments on the lovely smell! The only place I use proper liquid soap is at the kitchen sink cos I seem to wash my hands about 300 times a day when I'm cooking and I don't know whether bubble bath would be very kind your hands when used that often, especially if it's not diluted.0

It's so spooky this thread, only stopped to post on my way to wash make up brushes and I find you all talking about that!
Despite culling i have 83 nail polishes of various sizes and all the colours you can think of, and that's not counting basecoats topcoats etc etc!!!0 -

Hi Pip,
Yes everything is new and unopened
I did start selling some toiletries on Ebay but then i just ended up buying them again as i wanted that item back and thought i would use it, even though it is quite evident that i havent!
So i wasnt going to Ebay any of it as i will just end up buying it again, which will cost more in the end. Thats my theory anyway.
Although on a positive note, ive just been on the Body Shop site and all the huge gift sets are only £8 now, i added a few to my basket (stuff i already have!) then deleted everything and closed the site. Its progress:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Jf, your post made me smile, i do this for clothes shopping already :rotfl:. Find its great for feeling like ive shopped but spent no money lol:D. I can actually see a bit of a pattern emerging, i think i may be a wee bit of a shopping addict, bargain shopping of course:o.
