No buying new toiletries etc until.....

Be strong salesaddict!!
You know that buying the items will only give you a temporary high and then you'll be back down to earth with a bump feeling exactly the same as before (only with a bit more guilt added in for good measure).
Enjoy your new peach light eyeshadow and just make do with that for now. I know you can resist, especially with all us like-minded ladies behind you for support!
Hello Babafette,
of course you are right and so is msred and essexh, just needed telling
thankyou so much:o:o:o0 -
Still haven't used anything up :rotfl:
Yesterday I got a £5 boots voucher and decided to give it to my Nan so I didn't buy myself anything I don't need. So today I'm back in boots using the voucher for her because she wants a new blusher. My good deed of the day was going great and I had a lovely warm glow inside.... until I paid at the till!!
cashier "Here's another voucher"
me "Whaaaaat"? trying to push it back across the counter towards her
I was seriously tempted to have another walk round and find something I need so I could get rid of the voucherBut i didn't bother!!
Since starting this challenge I'm constantly tempted to buy products that you all swear by/love/can't live without.... if I fall off the wagon I'll be back here to blame you all!! :rotfl:Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

I'm sure all that pampering we're giving ourselves will help the 'no buying toiletries' withdrawal symptoms.:j:jI went away and now I'm back.:j:j0

OK guys, I need some advice. I was in my local small Boots today and there is a large vanity case containing lots and lots of skincare and some make-up. I am going to need some moisturiser in the near future, as well as some toner and both are in this case. I have a very sneaking suspicion that no-one is going to buy these (RRP £60) before the 70% starts, which would reduce the price to £18 according to my calculations. The moisturiser in it is £9.50 alone, and the toner is £7.50 on the website. That's 17 for the 2 products, so if I'm lucky enough to get one, that's essentially £1 extra for the case and all the other products. Is it daft to buy it, or clever money-saving in the long run? I mean, there are loads of other nice skin products (never mind the make-up) which would cost a fortune otherwise.
Opinions please...
P.S. I noticed that the skincare is normal/dry. I'm combination/normal (all the more normal as I get older). Will that make all that much of a difference, or am I just trying to convince myself? Please call me 'Pickle'

Hello Pickle.
I'm a bad influence so probably not the right person to be replying.I'd go for it. I think it's also a 75% off sale so would be only £15. If you're going to use most of the products and makeup (harder to give away) and can genuinely afford it, then why not? Could give away the other products in there that you're not likely to use.
You could pretend it's an early/late (very early? very late?) birthday present for yourself. Or ask someone to pay you for it and then not buy you anything for the big day. We've got to treat ourselves sometimes, otherwise what's the point?
I'll probably get one too if they appear online in the sale. My MIL got one for Christmas, it looked fun.
Sorry everyone for being such a bad influence. I'm not as devoted as everyone else, but still trying vaguely, hehe. Didn't actually say I'd do this challenge, but I'm just hitching a ride trying to change my ways slowly. :rotfl:0 -

Pickle is it one youve used before and are happy with. Im now starting to think that buying "new/novel/exciting" is often about the buying process- look at how many of us "would not buy again". You dont want to get lumbered with stuff you simply wont use ( it burns, smells funny, greasy etc) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

can someone sensible please talk me out of buying all the lift and luminate products that are due out on the 27th Jan in Boots. I managed to get hold of the day cream with spf15 and it leaves such a lovely glow on your face and it really is the best moisturiser I have used.Better than p+p and I have still got all that range x2 to use up.( You know the £60 gift set before Christmas)
Also I bought a really lovely revlon radiance eyeshadow in peach light from Savers for a £ the other day and it is the best formula I have used and now I want to go back and buy all the colours.
Help please:o:o

I have been having a spring clean, and found a further stash, think I probably bought most of it with No7 vouchers... and had totally forgotten about.
I have now added 4 no7 Hand Saviours, 3 No7 Body Polish, 3 No7 Body Wash, 2 bottles of Protect & Perfect, 3 tubes of No7 tinted moisturiser, Clarins exfoliator and moisturiser, Soap & Glory Body Butter, Heel Genius, Hand Food.
Also found 2 Dior Nail varnishes.... which brings my nail varnish collection to 54 bottles! I am quite shocked by that... especially as I already have both the colours I found.
I used to work near a big Boots and did buy something most days.... like you do... ????!!!!!!!!!
But now I am redundant I am feeling a bit relieved that I am not adding to the "stuff" I already have. I did go to Boots yesterday but only bought Vitamins was very tempted by the Clarins counter... but breathed deeply and stuck to my resolution!
Off to paint my nails now.... lol0
