OK....advice please. There is a strong possibilty I'm going through duty free soon, and so would make sense to get my replacement Estee Lauder stuff then (thank goodness I didn't buy at the weekend..)...but this leaves me with another issue. I'm going out hand luggage only, coming back can bring hold luggage. I'm only going to be away two and a half days so will be ine with most things (I might even use a travel size frizz ease I never take thinging its far too tiny), but what about perfume? I have some at home for day one, am travelling again on day two so can spritz in duty free BUT will bath before a fancy supper...I'll want perfume then....and the last half day I suppose I could suffer being without perfume..:) But I'd rather wear it.
Normally I'd go with my ten decanted/under 100 ml fluids (I always wonder if mascara and eyeliner count?) and buy perfume/frizzease anything else I (Think that I) will need air side, then huck this stuff in hold on the way back. I don't NEED more perfume (hve an un opened one of favourite, plus current) and nothing in an under 100 ml container.
I hate the 100 ml rule, I can't decant perfume. (I also think it very stupid you can't take nail varnish through but you can buy it airside: along with also flammable alcohol.). Anyway.....what do I do, buy another perfume in duty free??
ETA: and anther thing:o I'm fed up with those sandwich bags, is it allowable to take something like a plastic pencil case with a zip top? the locking thing at the top of the sandwich bag always fails for me, and if it is allowed, does it break rules of thread to buy something not strictly needed?0 -
OMG - I've just spotted this thread - I thought it was just me with a lotions and potions fetish! I've spent all today (and yesterday!) cleaning my bathroom trying to declutter. I haven't even touched the cupboards yet, just the shelves. They're still completely full (as are the cupboards) but at least all the shower gels (6 full and 2 with half an inch in the bottom) conditioners (5) shampoos (2) body lotions (4) etc etc etc are dust free! And then I found the shampoo that I'd bought today (it must have fell into my basket).
Tomorrow, the cupboards .........0 -
Hi lostinrates - have you any of the sachets of perfume that come free in magazines? Or even the small perfumes that come in gift sets for Xmas - I've now found I've got three of these!0

No! I gave up magazines ages go, one of the best MSE things I've ever done....those things lure one to buy what one doesn't need and won't hear about without the ''advertsing'' of editorial coverage!
Also...I'm really fussy about perfume:o0 -

do you know i didn't even think about it. went on honeymoon after the rulings were put in place and took a complete J Lo perfume normal size - wasn't even questioned.
how about.......... asking the staff on the perfume counters if they have any trial sizes??? they used to be a tiny vial inside a card tho i know a lot now just do a rub on one.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

Iknow, I've taken things on by accident ...I once went and told them I'd found pointy tweasers I'd forgotten about in my bag when I was airside and they were very kind about it...DH thought it hilarious I was going to tell on myself:o
Trial sizes are a great idea! I might be able to find something here somewhere like space NK before I go so I can relax....thank you
Edit to add: Finished the dregs of a Barefoot doctor body lotion tonight. Its ina handy travel sized 100 ml bottle! (I think I bought that while living in Lodnon so at least 5 years ago now!!!!)
Also have found tester Aveda in a 50 ml bottle marked ''shampoo''. Its not likely I would have got a tester of aveda shampoo, but possible its conditioner, but equally possible its a body lotion/cream. it does smell a bit like be curly condtioner, but not very sure...what can I use both conditioner and body lotion for if I'm not sure what it is??0 -
You can apparently use lotion for hair conditioning. I tried it once- didnt work for me with cocoa butter LOL.
Of course, leg shaving is an option:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
