Hi Sales addict
I thought i would let you know your not alone either.
Although i have not got me & my OH into any big debts yet.(my debts are my car loan, i have overdraft and small CC which should be nearly paid off next month) We are both shoppers and spend what we have each month. I went back into education (and out of a reasonably well paid job) and since finishing and now on a lower paid job (but in the right direction) i feel myself over spending. Which is why i am hear. As we want to save for a deposit for a house.
We all have our different reasons. I will probably always be a shopper, but i want to be in budget and not buy what i don't need. So i feel cutting myself off is the best way!!0 -

I'm joining this challenge as i desperately need to cut down on spending across the whole board.
Got way too many toiletries although just sold some on ebay.
Also decided to send back the £40 boots i ordered as by the time i get round to wearing them we will be hitting spring and i won't need them.0 -
my mum and sister are both shoppers too. they're coming down to visit me on tuesday to buy some of my stuff :j
when i used to buy things i'd usually go and get a coffee and open stuff up. i couldn't wait to get home. this is why i've got so many opened bottles
what gave me pause for thought was when i first read this thread and saw what people were going to do . i knew i needed to join but decided to after i'd been to spacenk sale, boots and lush. nothing was going to stop me buying what i wanted from there.
i remember how i felt when i made my first post about my hoarding, about my frenzied buying. it's only been a couple of weeks of not buying but it sems like ages and ages. and i've picked up samples.
i'll see what happens when my visitors come. we will go out shopping and hopefully all i'll buy is a coffee.0 -
Hi everyone,
My lips are feeling really dry and have been using the body shops lip buffer and its nearly finished, though im not too sure this is that great. Used to use lip lift by gale hayman and its a bit expensive so has anyone got anything they use that does not taste funny and moisturises lips?
They currently have a tinted lip lift at £5.99, or the original one at £8.50.0 -

Can I join too please? I'm not actually new to this type of challenge. The year before last I had a well paid job and used to splurge on cosmetics a lot mainly from QVC in the form of TSV's which mostly were kits with one or two items I used and my way of justifying the cost then was that I would try the other products. In December 2008 I lost my job and then decided I would not buy anything else (well, couldn't afford to) until my stockpile went down. I sold some items on Ebay and have also swapped some on makeupalley.com. I've been in temp work since September last year and am proud to say that the stockpile was very reduced until Christmas when I received a fresh stockpile! So, I don't need anything at the moment.
My one downfall though is nail lacquer. I am self confessed OPI addict and find that I talk myself into "needing" something from any new range that they release.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I also love Dermologica Skin Prep scrub Freyasmum - it's quite a hard core stuff, some therapists say to mix it in your cleanser. If my skin is looking rough I turn to this. Its expensive but worth it. I am using at the moment the Dermologica daily gentle exfoliant. Its in a powder form (weird huh) but when added to water its a scrub, and really gentle at that. As its powder it seems to be good value for money, tis lasting for ages.
I also like Clinique's 7-day scrub cream (rinse-off formula), which is a scrubby type of scrub.2. A make-up roll for my brushes (or a pot of some sort) - maybe able to find something in the house thats suitable. Now my make-up is condense into a smaller container, I need somewhere to keep the brushes clean.0
