  • Hello Bronnie,

I posted on here late hoping to escape your wrath but I see I needn't have worried. I can't imagine you in the Edwina role. I have never set a budget for anything which is why I am in the mess I am in. I am going to sit down tomorrow do my SOA which I have been trying to do for months but unfortunately circumstances keep getting in my way. Once I have done that I will know my budget.

Aww! Not wrath, more friendly concern. But no worries! I'll shut up now!! Anyway, I'm always the last one on here at night, cos I don't get in from work til late!!
    Good luck with the budget.

I think you need to take a deep breath over the next few days and think about answering this question for yourself. Luckily for me,I answered "mine" a while ago about why I have such issues with money. Id imagine most of us do or did at one point or we wouldn't have ended up here on MSE.

Is this money you "have" or is it debt you are running up? HHow do you feel during, beginning and after spending on your "one weakness" or do you have a "number of weaknesses". ( eg clothes/ toils/travel etc)

How does the idea of not spending sit with you and your identity- do you feel uncomfortable? Do you want to be SEEN to be spending or NOT SEEN - ie you do it in secret. Do you JUSTIFY to yourself what you buy or do you not need to kid yourself. What ALTERNATIVES to this sort of behaviour are there? Do you WANT to stop? What do you think stopping would be like.

Your posts remind me a bit of my mum who has a shopping problem ( IMO, she would never agree) she doesnt have the wherewithall to change- nor does she feel she should do. Its a long story, and probably not right here, right now, but put it this way. Ive been where your daughter is getting dragged around the shops for stuff that is not needed, and I often wish we did something fun instead.I find the amount of time devoted to shopping rather sad to be honest- as its at the expense of other more fulfilling interests, and I can feel myself following in her footsteps ( have done for a while) and I am desperately kicking against my "heritage" as I am desperat not to turn out like mum so I really have to try and keep trying.

Rather deep for a sunday morning but Hey im in a reflective mood!

Used up the last of the loreal Refinish exfoliator which although was quite nice, was not worth the rrp of about 30.00 ( I paid a lot less natch) I wouldnt buy this again, overpriced IMO and the grains are really small and are a nightmare to clean off the bath. Quite good on my dry excema on thetops of my arms, but no better than many other cheaper products. Ive still got the moisturiser left and this will go in the gym bag as a good size and also needs to be used up and will be good post gym. Also used up a face mask in the shower.

hope everyone has a happy sunday.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
