It's also quite concerning the amount of stuff I need (or have been conditioned - if you'll excuse the pun! :rotfl: - into thinking I need) to look good
Hi skaps.
One of my favourite lip balms is lipscription by benefit. It comes with a seperate exfoliator and huge price tag too! It really does work though. I usually put it on at night and use cheaper stuff during the day.
My other favourite is carmex, but not sure if you'll think that smells/tastes weird? It's a lot cheaper than benefit though.
I was also impressed by the ingredients lip butter by M&S. Came in a little pack of three and I found them to be really moisturising. I don't generally rate lip balms that come in little tubes, but these do work. Don't like nivea or lipsyl.0 -
Hi everyone,
My lips are feeling really dry and have been using the body shops lip buffer and its nearly finished, though im not too sure this is that great. Used to use lip lift by gale hayman and its a bit expensive so has anyone got anything they use that does not taste funny and moisturises lips?
I've been using the Molton Brown Lip Saver for years and its the best one that works for me.
I find the normal lip salve sticks are too thin and dont really do anything.
The Lip Saver is a thicker version of Vaseline, a 7ml tube lasts me months as its thick you only need a tiny bit like a grain of rice.
I first tried it in a Molton Brown TSV about 5/6 years ago and have since bought it in bulk from Ebay, the last time i bought some was about 2 years ago and they were under £2 each with postage.
That reminds me actually, i might have another look and stock up :rotfl:Saving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!:j

Tonight I have finished a body scrub in the bath. The shampoo and conditioner are still going. I asked DH to put some bath stuff in and he got a blob of my christmas S&G to the tip when I spotted him. Phew- saved that one! So I had a bit more of my evening primrose bubble bath.
Moisturised with baby oil tonight as I forgot to take the other one upstairs and I have just managed to get rid of the brown patches on my hands from the dove tanning one!
DH has finished up one of his shaving foams too.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I realised last night that the Dr. Hautschka body lotion found in Bangalore airport by my OH has a use by date of Sept- 09. (he found it in Dec'08 and I think i used it once, even though I love the stuff)
I know it is a brand that uses natural stuff, has anybody had experience of this? I am reluctant to throw it away, but at the same time, it would be one less thing to go through..0 -
Found half a bottle of conditioner in the basket, so didnt have to buy any today!
However, did note that Iceland are doing Palmolive milk & honey conditioner which i LOVE and my dry hair does too. Will probably buy this over the next few days when I need to go and get the milk. Its £1.
Threw away the johnsons holiday skin minis- I just couldnt use them, the smell is jsut too plasticky for my liking
The crabtree & evelyn hand cream is just lovely btw. If it wasn't for the smell it will be a "buy again" Looking forward to getting to the shea butter one. Shea butter is coming up time and again as a "Would buy again" in lots of products mentioned on here isnt it. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Dermologica
I also love Dermologica Skin Prep scrub Freyasmum - it's quite a hard core stuff, some therapists say to mix it in your cleanser. If my skin is looking rough I turn to this. Its expensive but worth it. I am using at the moment the Dermologica daily gentle exfoliant. Its in a powder form (weird huh) but when added to water its a scrub, and really gentle at that. As its powder it seems to be good value for money, tis lasting for ages.
Thanks for all your tips Freyasmum, always good to read stuff like this.
So today/last night I used up:
- Nivea "Happy" body lotion, the smell isnt for everyone but the consistency was good. I think Champneys miracle butter is still calling me though!
- Matrix (think its called) shampoo. They are a salon brand. Most products really good. This shampoo was utter rubbish, supposed to help hydrate it. Instead made it a matted mess, only corrected by my trusty Tangle Teezer brush from Boots.
- Eye drops (had been open a while and so need to be used and recycled the packaging along with the two bottles above). They are herbal eye drops from Superdrug and unlike Optrex and the like, you dont get a funny taste in your mouth when you use them.
- 2 bare essentials brushes - have decided that these really are pants (really rough) and so washed em thoroughly and popped into the charity bag, along with the other bare essentials bits. For those looking to use up shampoo, how about using it to wash your brushes?
Refilling hand wash pump bottles with bubble bath or shampoo
So thats 5 things, am really pleased. I did buy today a Superdrug bubble bath, the aim being to refill my soap bottles at work. Poured the 1litre bubble bath into a large pump, ready to take to work and thought mmm thats a nice smell (its rosey pink colour, think called skin scents and only 65 or 69p) and so now that will replace me buying small 250ml pump bottles at about double that price. Better for the environment (less plastic bottles) and for my purse. :T Sorry work! Will definitely do this in the future. I guess you could also refill any of these hand wash pump bottles with unwanted/unloved shampoo too.
I need to buy some stuff that I need!
I need:
1. A face mask to deal with spots and stuff (so probably a Mudd mask). I have 2 moisturing masks left. In fact, I may go off to use one of those tonight.
2. A make-up roll for my brushes (or a pot of some sort) - maybe able to find something in the house thats suitable. Now my make-up is condense into a smaller container, I need somewhere to keep the brushes clean.
Keep going everyone, I love reading this thread!:ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I've not finished anything today but i went into Boots looked at lots of things but nothing really inspired me so i left with nothing. The only thing i bought was some imodium (or an own brand version of it) for 99p from Bodycare as i noticed we didn't have any at home and its good to keep just in case!
I did however treat myself to a brand new mobile phone but as its not a toiletry it doesn't matter.
I made about £50 on ebay today from things i listed before i found out it was free listing tomorrow and i also won about £35 on some bets today. This money is going towards my credit card though0
