    Well done spinme!!!

Valentina2, sorry to hear about your work - but good for you, the way you reacted to it was very positive. Can you share your meal plan with us? I could do with some new ideas!

I am doing well today. I got up early, had toast for breakfast, met a friend for a 2.5 hour walk and then we went to a lovely cafe where I resisted all the fatty food and had veg soup with rye bread, yum!!!!!!! And a raspberry smoothie. Then I walked home (another 15 mins) and am feeling very virtuous right now! I'm going to spend an hour tidying up the house (it's so messy atm) and will put in some extra effort to burn a few more calories. I might even go for another walk as it's so lovely outside! No idea where all this motivation has come from but I'm welcoming it!

Roght, that's it. I'm going back out for another walk, it is just lovely and sunny here and I want to make the most of the daylight.

I want to thank you all by the way, if it weren't for these half-stone threads I may have given up by now. I know I have good days and bad days but I always pick myself up again and reading about your successes gives me hope that I can do it too. :)

  • That is an achievement poshstock 66! I like to go swimming in the summer but in the winter I just can´t bring myself to go. However, like bramble and Tara747 I walk A LOT and I try and always walk briskly to burn more calories.
As for my meal plan Tara747, it is not very interesting so hardly likely to inspire you but basically for main meals it consists of pasta with vegetable sauce, a sort of chicken casserole made with onions, garlic, white wine, stock and carrots (and then you blend the liquid/carrots and it makes a thickish creamy sauce), thick lentil soup and then pork fillets which I will pan fry in just a small amount of oil and serve with vegetables/salad and a jacket potato. We will have these things twice during the week as I will cook 4 portions and save the rest for another day/freeze the portions. And then for light meals it will be omelettes/egg on toast, ham and tomato sandwiches on wholemeal bread etc.

Had my final weigh in for January today and I've lost another 2lbs which I'm really pleased with, a total loss of 6lbs for this month:j My starting weight for February is 11st 5lbs.

This week I've felt very motivated by reading this thread and the thought of contributing to our collective loss total has kept me going. Something that's really helped stave off some sugar cravings this week is hot (sugar-free) blackcurrant squash :o Sounds bizarre I know, but on a couple of occasions it's completely eliminated my desire to have something sweet to eat!

Valentina2 - the chicken casserole you make with onions, white wine, etc sounds really good - would you mind posting some more details about quantities, methods, etc? :)

    Leothecat & spinme - well done :T

Tara747 - you must feel great after your mammoth walks today :)

Poshstock66 - well done on dropping those dress sizes :T You must be feeling great!

I am finding hunger a problem though - need to find many more low, low calorie foods to snack on - any ideas?

Well done! It's a real spur to keep going isn't it. I felt quite confident this morning - my freshly washed jeans went on without a struggle. Then at Swindon a "medium" shirt from Superdry wouldn't even do up.... I had to buy "large" :(. At least it gave me an incentive to only have one cream scone!

Well done on the 2lb loss and the 6lb total for January, that's great!!!

I do feel great, I went for another walk earlier so that's about 3hrs 45mins today. I also did 30 squats and will do some more before bed. Tomorrow will be either a walk or a run - I haven't been running since the summer (recovering from ankle injury) and more sensible eating. I am optimistic about Monday's WI!! :j

I find hunger a problem too, though I remember reading a book which said that, to lose weight and keep it off, you will have to accept that you are never going to feel totally full again, and you will eventually learn to deal with feeling hungry and train your body to eat less. Not too sure about this tbh! But then PMK says that you should aim to feel just satisfied after eating (as opposed to 'full') so maybe there's something in it. Anyway, I am all ears if anyone has any tips on dealing with hunger.

I am so proud of your restraint Amanita!! And everyone knows that jeans are tighter when freshly washed so that's a double bonus! :j

  • Hi all, congratulations on everyones losses.
I have lost 3lb this week but because of my 'blip' at last weigh in its only a total of 3lb for the month.
I have joined 'boots diets online' and must make myself come on here every day.
I think that over the years I have got so used to loosing a little weight and then putting it back on again that this is my pattern and I really need to break out of it, though I'm not sure how.
    July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.
Myself, DD, 2 cats, 35 weeks pregnant.
    Debts- CC's- V-775, F-1253.10, BC-3291.80, T-1429.08. Total-6748.98. All 0%. Aim- to pay £200 per month.
