  • Have you got room for one more please????? I lost two and a half stone last year but since having flu in November have eaten everything in sight and have gained 10lbs would like to lose about one and half stones. Can't get out to a group so am relying on will power alone but could really do with some company on the way!
    Target weight:

    10 stone (1/1/2010 21 lbs to target)

    25 lbs lost 2009 :D
    6.5 lbs lost 2010
  • Well I have had an interesting Christmas. After nursing my husband for a couple of days the week before Christmas I went down with a really heavy cold.

As “mums can’t be sick” I dosed myself up and carried on: we had our usual invite all the neighbours and friends Christmas Eve party (about 50 folks); it was my turn for Christmas (although mum helped a lot); and then we had the pre-arranged travel and visit all our relatives in the far west for a few days. :o

I returned home on the 29th and got into my sick bed – unfortunately still have a bad sinus infection (quote pharmacist). It has a really unusual side effect – I can’t taste anything and don’t feel like eating!

So this morning after dragging myself out of my sick bed, I stepped on the scales. Early December I weighed in at 14st 7lbs this morning I was 13st 11lbs!

I’d better not celebrate too soon – as I remember a WW leader who pointed out that “most of that is water” – and “as soon as you eat again it will go back on”. :p

The other danger is the special “mummy box of chocolates” have not been eaten (what’s the point if you can’t taste them?). So there are 250g of delicious organic dark chocolates smiling at me every time I open the fridge. I think I will have to work out the per chocolate calories and net this against some exercise. Any tips would be gratefully accepted.

So anyway, I still have 4st 1lb to lose, and 7lbs in January will be wonderful.

    Sorry about the ramble.

    Hello!
    Can I join you please?
I'm 41, a single mum and a part time nurse.
I have at least 5 stone to loose in all but am doing it for health reasons so I can be around for my dd.
My first weigh day will be tuesday (I get weighed at work at the start of an early shift), next one will be 9 days later-I hope thats ok?
Anyhow looking forward to getting to know you all and helping each other.
    CT.

Hey Curlytop, hi! I've just been catching up with the thread, and see you found it by yourself. I should have done that before I pm'd you!:o I've got more than you to lose, but for pretty much the same reasons. That, and wanting to buy clothes in a "normal" shop.

I've decided that apart from exercise and keeping my trap shut, I'll be doing Paul McKenna so won't be weighing in for 15 days, and have now made tomorrow my day one. Hope no one minds me doing that.

Actually, rereading your post, if that's really ALL you've had, I'm not surprised you are a bit hungry, or maybe thirsty. Have you drunk enough water, or eaten any fruit?
