Good Afternoon everyone.
Wow, we had a lot of snow here last night. I managed to get the car out and down the lane quite easily..........not so easy getting back up though! My old car would never have managed it.
I braved the supermarket this morning, and didn't give in to my magazine habit!
My parents have decided that they won't be coming for lunch tomorrow (because of the snow) so we'll postpone that until next week. I was going to cook roast lamb - we have a freezer full of lamb! We paid £45 for a whole lamb from the local farmer just before Christmas, all cut up into joints etc. I think it was a bargain........it'll keep us going for a couple of months anyway.
Today we're having stuffed pork loin, the pork came from the local butcher and I made the stuffing. It looks yummy but we'll have to wait and see, not all my cooking tastes as it should (sometimes I have disasters).
I'm having a sit down now with a glass of sparking wine. I know that technically speaking its not exactly slimming but as the bottle was already opened, I thought that the new frugal me should finish it off rather than throw it away!!
Other than bread and milk, today has been a no spend day

Snowdon i think i might just join you with a glass of vino, just done 1/2 hour on just dance on the wii, so technically i've already burnt off the calories:rotfl::D.
Stuffed pork sounds very yummy, we are having jkt spuds tonight as there is lots of bits that need eating up that will go with them.0 -
Be my guest miemie.......I should really be ironing as DS1 goes back to Uni on Monday, but I've cleaned the house, done the shopping, and changed the beds, so I think I deserve a rest now!
I go back to work on Tuesday, I've had 12 days off and its been one big blur of eating and drinking, I can't wait to get back to some kind of normality! Mind you, I did start my diary so it can't have been a complete blur!
This website is very addictive........I can't resist logging on all the time to see what everyone's been up to. DH was wondering what I was doing, so I had to show him the site!
I haven't tried the just dance on the Wii, but DS2 and I went halves on a Wii with the Wii fit a few months ago so I'm going to try and make time to use it more often.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -

Oh absolutely, it would have been criminal to throw it away, it really would!
Well done on your no spend day0 -
I'm glad to report the pork was yummy. We had it with home made potato wedges coated with olive oil (healthy) and mustard powder. OH just arrived home from work with a boot full of old offcuts of wood from work, so that should save us a bit of coal.
Its really cold here tonight........no snow but I'm sure its freezing. I tackled some of the ironing mountain while dinner was cooking so its looking a bit less daunting now.
I've heard a lot about the flylady thread so I'm going to see what that's all about now, maybe I'll pick up a few tips!
Can anyone tell me how you put a line through debts that you've paid off when you're editing your signature please.....I haven't been able to figure that one out!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -

Hiya - thought I'd pop out of lurkdom to answer the last bit for you;) When you're writing your message or signature, highlight the text you want to cross out and click on the little icon that has an 's' with the line thro' it....the writing will show as in brackets with 'strike' thro' it, but will appear in message as crossed through.....hope that made sense:p
Lovely sounding dinner by the way....am enjoying your diary:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Love the diary - you and I seem to have similar goals and targets! we are going to Cardiff uni on wednesday - my eldest has an interview! does your son enjoy Cardiff? never been! She already has a place at Manchester but fancied Cardiff.
BTW I turned 40 last June so another 1969er!0 -
Thank you MS, I just couldn't figure that one out!
Hi Judi, Yes, he loves it in Cardiff, he had a look at a few other places but Cardiff was his first choice, he's due to graduate this year (hopefully) and plans to stay on for a year to study for his Masters. DS2 is also hoping for a place at Cardiff for this September (just thinking about that makes me want to cry!).
I also love the city, we're huge rugby fans and always manage to make it down to at least one home game, its one of the nicest cities. If you have time, have a look at the St. Davids Shopping Centre (only windowshopping though!). Its unbelievable!! Good Luck on Weds, if they offer you a city tour at the Uni, its worth taking, we went and found it very helpful. Let me know how it goes.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
